They've learnt their lesson from the 500 last year it seems and are partnering with a proper Indy team. Alonso's next move?

HE said he doesn't want to do a full season and move to the US.

A third car at Indy though?

Mclaren is the opposite of all things that are good with Indy Car, i really hope for the SPM guys that there wont be to much of the political BS, snobby attitude that seem to come with McLaren nowdays.. But it would be fun if SPM now could start fighting with the big boys, it would really tighten up an already very competitive series !

It turns out that this was in the works for quite a while, preceding the announcement of McLaren returning to do the Indy 500 again - which now, as suspected, was Zak's last ditch effort to keep Alonso at McLaren.

TBA

Current active drivers are fan favourite James Hinchcliffe and ex-Sauber driver Marcus Ericsson. They'd like to keep Hinch but has personal ties with Honda/Canada even though the team is switching to Chevy.

Robert Wickens still has a deal with the team and are willing to make any adaptations for him.

Current rumour doing the rounds is current Indycar Golden Boy Colton Herta is their #1 target; a few weeks ago SPM tested Felipe Nasr - currently driving for Mazda sportcar in IMSA) and would personally like see him Indycar.

Most likely to see Alonso at Indy next year in a third car. Worth bearing in mind that Hinch was on the bubble at Bump Day in the last couple of years either not qualifying or just making the last row.
