Your modelling?

You're a "business systems consultant" (whatever that means) from the UK Midlands. What scientific modelling about a German health situation could you possibly do that was anything other than meaningless?
Lots of people take a learned interest in other things beyond their day job. People tend to have more than a single facet.

You're a good example. For the most part you present gentle tedium, which is great to read around bedtime. Then occasionally you also show a talent for extreme rudeness and self righteousness.
That is without doubt the best thing you have ever posted on this Forum. Outstanding. biggrin
You forgot the words "and an amazing ability at forecasting what actually happens, when everyone else says it won't happen."

Remember those words.
There are no words for you. You're unique.

The cars won’t run at all this season. They might run next season but that’s not certain.
Even in the current debacle, technology does not stand still...you often see the mid-season changes with the rules on various cars. I would guess that they would advance the stuff that might normally be in mid season if they can, thus testing would likely occur. It will be the same cars I would think, just developed far beyond what they planned.

Not sure about drivers either...will the lineups remain tha same?
Most drivers are out of contract. I can’t see the f1 teams spending much time developing their cars. They know the writing is on the wall re this season, possibly next season and is maybe gone forever.
This is F1 - so quite simply when we are about to start whatever season (this year or next) we'll have a whole host of threats, issues, arguments and potential legal action and , of course Ferrari pulling some strings......until monies are moved around so certain teams will be sure of a good deal, and others not so much....then we will lfinally go racing....

Yep, there’s an article on sky sports about it. All the uk F1 teams are working together by the sounds of it.

Have you been locked in a room for 2 months with no contact with the outside world and no information access? No F1 this year, maybe none next year, maybe it’s changed forever.

Unless they all turn into ventilator manufacturers overnight there will already have been serious talks at the above on how long they can last.
Apparently McLaren, Williams, Red Bull, Renault, Racing Point and Mercedes are now making ventilators. [/

Yes, but who's winning.

Maybe that’s what the constructors championship should be based on laugh

Currently watching Indycar official broadcast, Watkins Glen on iRacing... Probably the most professional one yet, we've had a prayer and a national anthem all done live!

It may have already been covered somewhere so I apologise in advance.
Are the teams aloud to carry on with development work during this hiatus?

They've moved the summer break to now and extended it to 21 days, so they have all officially downed tools for now.

Marko being his usual caring, risk averse self.

The fact we have so many of the factories in this country and now proof they really can produce such solutions and attain approval within a matter of days is very reassuring right now..

Very well done Mercedes. We can all be a bit cynical about what really motivates such efforts sometimes, and yes they're being paid...(I've seen some comments on social about that) But in the end, if lives are saved, it's to be celebrated. Nice to have an F1 headline this year about something other than cancelled events or Ferrari cheating!

I read somewhere else that Mercedes have applied for a 10 billion euro overdraft...yet can afford F1?

And they’ve halted development of the new rules cars for several months.

F1 works for them, they get an excellent ROI via marketing in F1. Without F1, as of today, they would need an even bigger overdraft.. like many firms, they have to market to survive.

I know we laugh at the billions spent each year to get 20 cars to drive round in circles... But the truth is it's a fantastic marketing platform for those that make their investment in it work. Mercedes have made it work.

As for fans allowed.. maybe we'll see 2022 cars with ventilators hanging out the back to suck them to the track like a limpet - it's just to cool the engine, honest..
