I’m watching now - between this series and the IMSA shows on Thursday F1’s offering is being made to look like a bit of a joke.
I wonder if the big teams are scared to have a level playing field. I can't think of any other reason why they're missing such an obvious opportunity to keep their fans and sponsors happy.
Lando is very unlucky isn't he.
The Indycar races have been really good. It's so much more professional and serious than the F1 attempt. There are several full practice races before the main event (like the one today where Lando destroyed everyone).
It's really showing how terrible the F1 arcadey game is for esports.

Lando is making every else look stupid here.
Not really....he has about 10years experience more on iracing than anyone else on the grid...quite a few of the drivers have only just received their new rigs and started on iracing........just like when Lando goes up against the likes of Siggy and other professional sim racers, he gets his ass handed to him..it’s all about laps and experience

Logistically I imagine the US series is a lot easier to organise. Presumably most drivers are in the US so can have rigs trucked to them, plus restrictions over there are loose to non existent in some states. With F1 you have drivers spread around the world in different time zones (Lewis is in a hotel in Bali and as only recently got a Playstation delivered, Ricciardo is in Australia). Vettel mentioned he doesn't have anything etc etc.
Then the major issue is that the F1 licence sits with a relatively basic console game which simply doesn't have anywhere near the configurability or robust tried and tested professional online racing framework that something like iRacing has.

Same as all things F1... The license was flogged to those that could bring it to the greatest commercial audience. To be fair, it is massively successful. With F1 you have drivers spread around the world in different time zones (Lewis is in a hotel in Bali and as only recently got a Playstation delivered, Ricciardo is in Australia). They just failed to imagine a world in which actual F1 drivers would only be able to compete on a console game..
Well, that Legends Race was actually fantastic to watch.
They are steadily ironing out the online issues and the drivers are getting more used to their rigs.
At the beginning of the lockdown I was one of the many cynics, but if the races carry on like this I'll be fully won over.
Oh, and just look at the drivers on the grid...
