Just watching Norris have a go at the Indy car series.

https://youtu.be/njQCaPXIOnA

Far superior to the F1 product, more drivers, far better presentation, and not limited by a console game. (They are using iRacing for the Indy car series)

Yeah, the Indy offering is so much better. It really shows how poor the F1 game is.

Really pleased to see Lando doing so well and rightly making a name for himself across the pond.

Ah, Lando was on for the win and got taken out by a miffed Indy driver.

It will be interesting to see if the organisers do anything about it, deliberately doing that has to be stopped otherwise loads of people will start doing it.

Just watched that now... really quite enjoyable smile

Glad to see the crowds on the hills practising social distancing biggrin (not so sure about the grandstands...)

Especially when you get the likes of Jacques Villeneuve playing on a laptop with a xbox controller and then Darren Turner in a fulll size half car simulator with massive wrap around project screen smile

Interestingly although it’s on the net. this was free to view on Sky up to this race but it now appears to have disappeared behind the Sky Sports paywall.

It has been proved to be very popular but does this mean that Sky F1 think it’s going to be the only ‘racing’ they get this year. scratchchin

The Albon LeClerc race was genuinely entertaining, great stuff.

As has been mentioned, a shame they are restricted to a console game, but what can you do.

One thing I will say about the iRacing Indycar racing it all looks very realistic until they crash as iRacing still appears to be using Grand Prix Legends/NASCAR 2003 crash physics.

F1 Legends race at Zandvoort, Alonso racing a Brabham BT44, rolls it at the last corner when 18th....then rage quit.

Replay, ok caused by Montiero rejoing the circuit.

So Alonso does the double at Indianapolis, wins race 1 from Button and then from the back of the grid for the race 2 win. So he's done the triple crown now he can stop and concentrate on getting that Renault drive hehe

It really annoys me how the commentators bother the competitors during the race. I’ve just watched them put Ian Poulter in the wall. It’s bad enough that they do it at all but they ask several questions in a row. Undermines the competition for me.

Alonso's camera is working, so you can see him driving. He's just gone very quick to get pole at Silverstone.

Tried watching it, quite liked the super V8's, but the F1 is garbage. Prefer watching YouTube reruns. I like a bit of sim racing and I've got a rig, but watching it is no substitute for the real thing. On the whole, it's pretty ste.

Roll on next week for the real thing.

I couldn't get excited about it either. It's like watching pr0n vs doing the real thing.

I started watching the Porsche Supercup esports series on YouTube and really enjoyed it.

I haven’t really been a fan of watching this sort of thing in the past. The Virtual GP is just some people playing a PlayStation game.
