Oh I'm sorry , too soon eh? Should i have saved it up for a time that suits you better, or perhaps run it by you first, its my opinion and I'm entitled to it as much as you , so get off ya high horse Cowboy, yee haw. By the way Dannica Patrick does the job much better and has experience with actually racing open wheel cars and is /was as good as anyone, male or female , which many others have also stated. There is no need to get nasty because someone dares to disagree with your viewpoint.
Thought you might be a one hit wonder, so welcome back. You say when you talk to all your mates about F1 it comes back to Schiff, do they all also mention her 'skin colour' like you referenced?

No I'm not a racist
Mmmmhmmm.No I'm not a racist
Billy monger has not driven an F1 car, but his observations are pretty good and spots what DC and Alex miss. I never see any objections to him broadcasting.
She is opinionated, but that was why she was hired. SKY has a very weak team in all respects, (excluding Ant) but compared to Croft, she walks on water and far more competent than Danica Patrick.

I’m not the biggest fan of Schiff as she does seem to come across as a bit of an armchair expert but I’d take her over Danica Patrick any day. I can’t stand it when Danica is wheeled out.Billy monger has not driven an F1 car, but his observations are pretty good and spots what DC and Alex miss. Also can’t stand Rosberg either but annoyingly his analysis/knowledge is often pretty accurate.
She was always going to have accusations of "token" and "box ticker" and worse levelled against her, no matter how good or bad she was.
And not only does she have to be a good pundit but she also has to dress "correctly" and "appropriately" too, apparently.
Talk about having to start an athletics race from the bus stop 10 miles down the road from the stadium!

Any deviation from the 'norm' has the bores out in force, same thing with Hamilton but worse because she's a woman. It's sad but absolutely not unexpected.
I do not enjoy Naomi Schiff's lack of insight, poor technical contribution and general presentation style, along with the odd vocal tick, such as starting many comments with "Look!".
Conversely, I immensely enjoy Sam Collin's in-depth technical analysis, and whose knowledgeable presentation makes complex technical issues so much easier to comprehend.
And then there is the other newbie Bernie Collins, who I find fascinating with her in depth knowledge of team/race strategy and other technical issues.
Tricky one for the racist and misogynist accusers, I guess!
Or is it that because I dare to criticise a black woman, I am damned, regardless what other opinions I may hold?

Everyone has their annoyances. For me it is an interviewer saying "Talk me through...."carl_w said:

Wouldnt it be smarter to hire someone with anchor skills than shoehorn someone just to tick boxes?
I can no longer comment on her Sky duties, but presumably her fluency in French and German is a box ticker for her FOM duties?Harry Flatters said:

Kamala Harris syndrome. If you say she’s rubbish, then it must be because you’re racist and sexist, rather than because you think she’s rubbish. As you say, Bernie Collins, Sam Collins, Karun Chandhok, all brilliant analysts no matter what their race or sex.

I'd settle for competent, knowledgeable and insightful, without the 300MPH cadence to fill the lack of knowledge. And not only does she have to be a good pundit but she also has to dress "correctly" and "appropriately" too, apparently.

When she first started i saw her on the mid week podcast type show and she didn't know the answer to a technical question. In that situation you have two choices, say you don't know but will find out, or bulls

It's OK not to know an answer, it's not OK to talk crap to fill that void. She seems completely blinkered with regards to her co-presenters too, the interview with CH on the grid yesterday was a classic example. If you have that recorded, go watch it again and don't look at CH and NF, look at Ant and Nat, their faces tell a story.
Naomi is clearly a bright young lady, if she wants to make a worthwhile contribution and improve so she has a longer term career, they need to help her by pointing out these issues, the role she fills isn't the correct one for her knowledge, you can see this is stressful for her.
What do you think about these comments CC, is it fair and do you think if they helped her improve that would be better than the word salad we have now?

I don't know. I think your comments seem reasonable. And I don't hold myself up as any sort of an authority; I'm just a trans woman who experiences stuff as I see it and tries to comment from my own experience. (Yet is also part of the Tofu-eating Guardian-reading Wokerati, apparently. And, also, me saying that maybe people should be less s
