Angela Cullen and Lewis go their separate ways

This is my point - these are all fleeting interactions and he’s great; friendly, personable, polite and shows a genuine interest in people during that first meeting. My point is that beyond that he doesn’t appear to be popular and in some cases attracts deep hate.
For those that don’t like him, it’s very easy to dismiss them as racists and LH plays on that, but I think there’s a darker side to him that we don’t see. It was for this reason that Alonso, Button & Rosberg were able to create divisions with their respective teams.
I don't get that line of reasoning at all. Especially when all the evidence points to Alonso being a bit of a bellend and Rosberg being a diva. I'm a massive Jenson fan but there's about as much evidence that he's a dhead as there is for Lewis. For those that don’t like him, it’s very easy to dismiss them as racists and LH plays on that, but I think there’s a darker side to him that we don’t see. Don't go looking for things that aren't there to justify not liking him. Kinda feels like you've already decided you're just not going to so you try and make him out to be something he, by all accounts, isn't.

There's a few reoccuring names in the F1 sub forum that harbor some angst against Lewis, any regular reader can see them. What ever ill feelings they have towards him are theirs alone, every one is entitled to an opinion - but opinions is all they are.
It is pointless to go ahead and ask for explanations as to why they dislike him and try and reason them out of it because their minds are made up. Similarly I wont be talked out of my dislike of Christian Horner or Stroll Snr. Its my opinion based on my very limited viewing of them in a stress environment. They could be lovely people outside of Formula 1 and in private. We don't see it.
There is always calls to end the arguing over Max/Lewis, RB/Merc bickering in PIAP's threads and the first port of call is to be the bigger person and not take the bait that's put out there against your favourite driver/team. Ignore the slating of a driver because he's 'your driver' and just keep to talking to the races, drop into the drivers threads if you like the slanging matches.

Loads of photos of Angela, alongside photos of other drivers with their trainers. AC always had a massive smile on her face!

Bet most of the people here can't name a single other driver's trainer. The level of people's obsession is out of control.
Or do most teams employ one physio to work with both their drivers?
Mikey Muscles - Jenson's replacement
Sonia Irvine - Eddie's sister
Mark Arnall - Hakkinen

Josef Leberer - sent out by Dungl to work with F1 drivers
Aki Hintsa - McLaren's physician but is the Godfather of modern F1 physio. Angela worked at the Hintsa Clinic before Lewis took her on.

She is still there, she was paid via a Hintsa contract IIRC:https://www.hintsa.com/company/our-people/angela-c...

There’s one of the DTS episodes, where Lewis and Angela are walking around the supermarket in Monaco discussing meal plans and nutrition. It’s obvious that the job of the driver’s trainer now extends much further than was the case in the past, hence organisations such as Hintsa with the number of specialists they can employ behind the scenes to advise drivers on personal wellbeing. We have even seen it this season with Lance Stroll, who got quite seriously injured falling off his bike but still make the first race.

Yep, Hintsa provides a number of the trainers for the drivers. Most are qualified phyisiotherapists. I think every driver now has a full-time PT, who basically gives up their own life for a mad 10-month road trip. IIRC, Senna was the first driver to have a full-time fitness coach.

I suspects Lance’s rapid recovery was due more to his father’s cheque book giving access to the best possible surgeons and facilities than anyone such as Hintsa. There’s one of the DTS episodes, where Lewis and Angela are walking around the supermarket in Monaco discussing meal plans and nutrition. It has to be asked . Is mikey muscles still jensons trainer? If he was let go it must have been an equal shock or betrayal.
Also if someone keeps calling you mikey muscles is it a problem when you want a new job? You have to keep putting that on your resumeee. What if you decide you want to be some big city trader for someplace like credit suisse? Do you have to apply as mikey muscles?

No, he’s head of the physio team at McLaren (some fancy title like Head of Human Performance) I saw or read recently. Also if someone keeps calling you mikey muscles is it a problem when you want a new job? When some folk have strong feelings against a particular person it’s not always for reasons such as racism, prejudice, jealousy or whatever, sometimes people just don’t like someone and can’t always explain why. I’m an LH fan, have always been and still am, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t say that there are certain things about him that are odd.It is pointless to go ahead and ask for explanations as to why they dislike him and try and reason them out of it because their minds are made up. There are certain people in the paddock that really hate LH, hate. Marko is one as is Alonso, Bernie, JYS, Max, Piquet, Lando, Rosberg and a section of the McLaren team when he was up against Alonso. Now, it’s easy to just swat it away as racism, jealousy, prejudice or whatever but I believe there’s more to it. None of his peers view him as the best, like Messi or Ronaldo are viewed as the best in Football, Valentino Rossi in MotoGP, Ali in Boxing, Bolt in sprinting, Woods in golf etc. But the fans do. I think he’s the GOAT but his peers don’t. Who knows best?
Can you remember when someone mentioned the name Frank Tost and he didn’t know who he was despite Franz being the AT TP since 2005. It shows that LH loves driving F1 cars and likes the reach that the sport gives him, but he has no interest in F1. He doesn’t make an effort other than to polarise, take digs at the other teams that are faster.
We human beings are weird. If we work with someone day in and day out, admire them for their talent and skill, but don’t understand or relate to them, or think that they’re not making an effort to be inclusive, admiration turns into hate. LH is not popular with his peers or with the sport as a whole - I hope he turns this around before he retires or he’ll find it difficult to feel welcome when he returns after retirement.

The physiotherapy and recovery training, on the other hand, is exactly what companies like Hintsa do, and why so many elite sportspeople use them. They can bring resources to an injury recovery, much more than the usual one trainer that works with the driver. I hear they have a smiley Kiwi lady physiotherapist on their books, who might be looking for something to do at the moment
