The difference with Hadjar is he's like that when it's going well! To be fair, he was rather more contrite on his startling balls up for the championship last year and actually came out of it looking... less bad than he could have.
Him and Yuki though
For the first time in forever I'm not looking forward to seeing what a rookie can achieve, I'm looking forward to what he says when things go wrong Him and Yuki though

And he's not an a

Yuki's about to learn a whole bunch of new naughty words

Either way I can't see that Helmut has made a mistake with him, he was only ever a function of the Honda deal, not a driver that Helmut choose or is invested in.

Honda's contract with Red Bull expires at the end of the (next) season I mean. I'm not suggesting the good doctor will think he's made a mistake but I suspect Yuki will think he has and with those contracts up at the end of 2025 he has nothing to lose.
I expect Yuki's simply hoping that a seat becomes available for 2026 season at AMR, if it does, it seems likely he'll be filling it.Perhaps that's already 'the deal' of Honda supplying AMR, but the change just hasn't been orchestrated yet?

That was basically the problem, that the Honda deal (whether explicitly or implicitly) included the engine supplier placing the best Japanese driver they could find in one of the seats, for their own marketing purposes. Either way I can't see that Helmut has made a mistake with him, he was only ever a function of the Honda deal, not a driver that Helmut choose or is invested in.
Marko doesn’t care for Yuki, he wasn’t a Red Bull junior and is only there to keep Honda happy. He’ll probably go either to Aston Martin or to Honda’s IMSA LMP entry for ‘26, depending on how much leverage they managed to get from Mr Stroll Snr.
Edit: this should of course be in the ‘26 thread, rather than the ‘25 thread.

To evaluate sim driving solutions and select the best one for them to use apparently - he must be rated as very good at sim testing and effective feedback I guess.
Right but they may do a Toyota and promote the test drivers to race drivers.Perhaps I'm being harsh and misremembering!?

Even if they're a bit... not very good? My memory of Ericsson is that he achieved next to nothing in several years in F1 and was then unsurprisingly let go. I don't recall thinking about him since he shuffled off tbh.

He did win the Indy 500... he is not at the head of the field, but by no means at the back. Perhaps I'm being harsh and misremembering!?
