Love how this thread is completely dead but there is a rather large thread started about the recent news.

I think this thread will pick up once we get into this season and the rumours begin to swirl about who is going where - there will be a knock on.

I asked at the start of this thread whose contracts expired at the end of 2024 ... didn't think about Hamilton having an out clause!

That’s a long list. I’m going for Ricciardo to Red Bull. No particular reason, just had to start somewhere!

Add in a few potential new drivers like Lawson and Antonelli. 2025 should be a good shuffle around.

I’m still quite amazed that 2024 sees no drivers moving and no new circuits added. 2025’s silly season is off to a great start though, with one of the most shocking moves in recent years announced already.

If this kid Antonelli as as good as everyone says he is, then F2 is definitely going to be worth watching this year. Not that F2 isn’t always worth watching, it’s a great series and I’ll be starting the F1 Support Races thread as we approach the first event in Bahrain. New spec chassis for F2 as well, so everyone’s going to be a rookie.

The thing is though, the next big things have always had a habit of falling flat when the jump to F1 comes.

I hope Antonelli is another Verstappen and not a Vandorne, Magnussen or de Vries.

I was at Spa one year and got in with a great bunch of Dutch fans who were adamant, this young de Vries guy was going to make Verstappen look very ordinary once he came through the ranks.

Perfect red bull fodder now their young driver program has fallen apart at the seems. Not enough talent to encroach on max but PR friendly and just fast enough to appease everyone else.

Not an easy upbringing and journey into F1, he won’t be on big £ at Williams and they won’t be offering him them either so a nice secure payday for a good few years.

If they have offered him a deal I can’t see him saying no and fair play to the lad. I could see Williams jumping at Perez in the aftermath mind you, a few of Carlos Slim’s decals on the car would be handy for a swan song season before the next pay driver comes along.

F1Wow now reporting that the rumours of Albon to Red Bull are some misdirection from Williams to Mercedes, let the games commence hehe

I thought Albon was on record as saying NO to Red Bull.

Albon incorrect. Confirmed by James Vowles today as being end of 2025.
