Are Red Bull going to realise that Perez may cost them the constructors championship?
Realistically they only need to do enough to give Max the WDC to also get the WCC. Every time Max wins, Perez only needs to average P6 for them to outscore any rival team getting 2nd and 3rd, and with McLaren and Ferrari currently so close they are taking points off each other as well as RBR. Even with his poor race yesterday they only dropped a single point to McLaren and still outscored Ferrari. It will only become a problem for them if they can't consistently keep Max in the lead more often than not.

I agree that WCC isn't really on RB's cards. The prize money for that isn't significant for them nor is it that essential to their marketing, either.
With the way the last 2 races went I'd hesitate on using the word ''easily'' for the title, though it is very much his to lose, though the next 2 races (excluding Monaco) will be more telling where the fields' pace really is with the recent updates applied. Perhaps RB fell out of their sweet spot the last 2 races or we genuinely have a close season about to happen.
Next year is a huge question mark I agree. Mclaren certainly seems on a fantastic path at the moment.
Yep, McLaren are looking super strong. Ferrari too, will have (unless F1's most open secret turns out to be BS) Newey on the team next season, who can potentially find further improvements in their current regs car. With the way the last 2 races went I'd hesitate on using the word ''easily'' for the title, though it is very much his to lose, though the next 2 races (excluding Monaco) will be more telling where the fields' pace really is with the recent updates applied. Part of me suspects that if either team was close enough to regularly pressure Max, he might not deal with that pressure in a great way. I'm hopefully going to see that situation play out and perhaps I'll be proven wrong! But it's a hunch I have...

I agree with all of this. When (if?) Adrian Newey starts at Ferrari I wonder if we will get a moment such as Adrian looking at aero drawings and saying, that bit is not working right, try this? As I understand it his genius is being able to visualise the air flow in his mind.Part of me suspects that if either team was close enough to regularly pressure Max, he might not deal with that pressure in a great way. Thanks all, think I will bow out now nonsense has started. See you at the next one
Indeed - nothing contentious happened all race so there is only nonsense to chat about now it's over.Roll on Monaco
We've had a good discussion this week. We've potential PH Goat M1K3 offering a spare paddock pass for free, on the back of a McLaren win and the pack looking closer than ever, all on a classic circuit at the anniversary of Senna's death.
Yet the usual immature tts decide that now is the time to wind everyone up with the usual puerile garbage.
It's ..depressing.
Maybe if the mods could tear themselves away from removing spam 'call girl' posts from the site, they'd be able to actually moderate the st that pollutes the long term threads.
The tribal morons/trolls need to be booted - it's rare to find a generally reasonable corner of the internet, they can ps off to Reddit or YT if they want to waste words posting crap.
ETA: and a very wonderful thing for M1K3 to give a spare pass away on here, how awesome is that
Forums are dying out, this is the only one left and personally I think it's days are numbered and banning people just accelerates that because no posts, no arguments no discussion is no fun at all. Just stop getting worked up over people on the internet.
Read the Welsh beef thread to sober your thoughts on the issue. Then post on there and tell everyone how decent you are about live and let live and how you never want to see anyone get banned.

TBF I don't really care what happens as long as we have a reasonable number of competitive teams. Seeing the same one winning race after race after race, regardless of which it is, becomes incredibly tedious. With the way the last 2 races went I'd hesitate on using the word ''easily'' for the title, though it is very much his to lose, though the next 2 races (excluding Monaco) will be more telling where the fields' pace really is with the recent updates applied. MUCH better than the half a lap Sky managed to show without the presenters wittering over it. Superb noise. He's living the best life!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5ST1OPDyDA&ab...
Question for the knowledgeable: Seb's '92 Williams looks really very different to the '93 McLaren. Was there a rule change for '93? Wheels look much smaller, they look narrower. (I'm probably wrong!)
- edit*
A reduction of the cars' track from 2,150 mm (7 ft 1 in) to 2,000 mm (6 ft 7 in)
A reduction in tyre width: the rears going from 18 in (457 mm) to 15 in (381 mm).

What makes you think that. Slightly interesting that the PH massive, well 126 of them, managed to predict 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the correct order.
A little surprised that Piastri does not make it into the top 10. He out-qualified Lando on a track that you can’t overtake on. Now he has the full aero kit available, I suspect that we can expect him to be in the chase, at least.

Slightly different race this time, 1% excitement and only 99% borefest.
Have to admit, for all the excitement about returning to Imola after missing out last year and a return to 'a proper circuit' and all the history etc... I don't really like it! I imagine it's a great circuit to drive with the elevation changes and the chicanes always look tricky but it does not seem a layout that lends itself well to overtaking at all. I think all but one pass yesterday was done into the tamburello chicane and even then really only when the following car had an enormous speed differential. Piastri never really got close to passing Sainz despite following him within 1s for lap after lap. I think Piastri's pass on Perez into Variante Villeneuve was the only other passing place and that was really only because Perez was offline in the previous chicane defending against CLC and Piastri had a huge tyre advantage at that stage. I think Karun mentioned in the commentary that the 2nd rivazza could do with being a bit slower to get cars closer on the pit 'straight' but it would be nice if there were some other place on track where passing is possible. Without DRS, I'm not sure we'd see any passing at all. Anyway, enough moaning. Monaco to look forward to Dump Imola and make it the German GP again or even alternating.

Remember the covid year when the Nurburgring got a race. Old school circuit quite tight and it was a cracking race with overtaking in loads of places. We need to go back there.

In October when it was cold and foggy in the mountains so they had to cancel practice, then a late race safety car which almost always creates drama.Dump Imola and make it the German GP again or even alternating.

sadly, not tht it'd ever happen given the relevant circuits aren't going to be able to pay Liberty enough but if covid time races were going to return, I'd really want Portimao to be there before Nurburgring GP tbh.....
