I think you're ignoring the part where the minister's paid thug grabbed MB by the shoulder! The correct reaction from MB would have been to punch him in the face and tell them both to fk off!

Maybe he was so excited to be in the lead that he wet himself.

Watching back the last couple of laps from his onboard, they were troubleshooting an issue with high engine temps before he retired, that was leading to the PU derating on the straights. Guess would be low water pressure due to a leak somewhere in the system, that was going to be unrecoverable. Not sure George was expecting the call to box though, I think he thought they could work through it.

The coolant itself is, as your link suggests, a pressurised water/glycol mix, and they use the minimum amount of cooling they can get away with for the circuit conditions, as the cooling inlets and outlets affect the aerodynamic performance of the car Whatever the issue was, it wasn’t something they could fix by removing some tape from the radiator inlet.
I don't think anyone was suggesting it could be fixed by adjusting airflow - we were just having a separate discussion about how far they push cooling system even at lower temp circuits.

I agree that whatever the cause of the pressure drop, in a relatively small volume and high pressure cooling system, the tiniest leak would quickly drop the pressure, in turn dropping the boiling point of the coolant - it would only get worse from that point and there is no rapid fix possible. Hitting the 'retire' button probably couldn't happen fast enough once they confirmed the pressure drop.

Sad for GR! Although as noted earlier, Lewis had a no fault DNF this season too, these things happen.

Good job they didn't use the 'exhaust system problem' code then...

I've no idea of what point you both think you're making... what would your reaction be if a hired goon grabbed you by the shoulder and tried to push you in the direction he wanted? Perhaps a biff in the bifocals is a bit unnecessary, but telling him to fk off wouldn't be out of line!

Tim, I think I might start with "excuse me" or maybe "please don't touch me" first.

visions of a junior engineer legging it down to catering to grab an egg - only to return 5 minutes later and discover it's hard boiled smile

Hardly grabbing or pushing. @4:00

Maybe impolite, but it's not like Brundle is in the middle of talking to someone, or doing a vital piece to camera.

Having missed the brundle walk I was led to think he snubbed the new minister chap, but it seemed fine to me,though a bit brief.
Maybe brundle spent ages sucking up to Norfolk tory bonehead Liz truss and all his efforts now seem wasted lol.
Having said that maybe they put some sort of tax on the smug wasteful world of F1 just to see the look on its face.

"Wasteful"?! Do you have any idea of the number of people employed? The technology being developed through F1?

Plus the fact that a few years ago the overall cost of F1 involvement probably reduced by around 40% as an average.

I could have sworn the UK was very happy about F1 when there were emergency ventilators needing to be made ASAP, which the sport assisted with. Also around that time I imagine the UK's sports fans were quite happy that F1 developed and proved a sufficiently safe way of commencing the sport whilst the covid threat still remained significant across the world - football and other sports were then able to adopt the same practices.

The government (whichever government...) in the UK has long viewed F1 favourably and as an important, valuable, largely British led sporting series.

I doubt very much they're going to invent an 'F1 tax' and risk all those famous teams uprooting from Britain and pissing off somewhere cheaper!

He might have been concerned about the TV impartiality aspect too - not wanting a politician (of any stripe) turning a chat into a political broadcast. A bit of pre-planning to meet on the walk might have led to a better interaction.
