Ive gone for Lewis.

As much as I'd love it to be an Orange take home, I can just see some shenanigans or strategy issues causing them a problem, or a trip up, and the Silver arrows to take advantage. I've voted Lewis because I'd prefer him over George, but it has to be one of those boys, I feel. Mercedes engine win for this one!

I'll be flying out to IBZ for the race coverage so I'll have to watch the highlights from the comfort of our camper van in the evening!

Monza, always looks like a fantastic atmosphere at an historic venue, would love to go there some day.
Its the most memorable of all the GP's I have been too.

Its like having a GP in Hyde Park. Track parking is all but impossible but we camped in a school field 10 yards from the parks wall. The whole town was buzzing and there are cars and events all over the place.

The track itself is really difficult to see certain parts as its quite wooded so you need to be in a stand.
I did see quite a few people walking in on a Thursday with rucksacks and tents to camp in the woods to avoid paying for a ticket, but I bet they have jumped on that by now.

Thanks PIAP!

I'm driving whilst the race is on ... Mrs-C will be delighted with my radio choice on the way to Devon ...

A Mclaren win here again I think, and I'm going to go with a possible surprised 7th place for Williams with Albon.

Agreed

Shame its not closer for the WDC, would have been a great ending to the year.

Going to plump for a Piastri win. Feel like he tends to run the car with a bit less wing so might suit him.

It's a hard one to call tbh, you'd expect RBR, Ferrari and Merc to all be better too. The heat/deg/surface looks like it could play a massive factor here.

Could really do with a Lando win and a DNF for Max to spice things up biglaugh

The new Williams floor clearly has some performance advantages (outside of the scrutineers bay biglaugh ) so hopefully this comes true! Will be watching Colapinto closely too, hopefully he cant start on the right foot. Id love to see a McLaren 1,2 with Max down in 5th or 6th to really put the heat on RB and Max as we move towards the close of the season !

I’m with you, I expect Piastri to have the edge on Norris this weekend, and win

monza is all about low drag , i think that maybe RB will be good here.
Used to love working at this track in old elsm, and the local restaurants are amazing.
Remember the first time i drove the truck into the park, before sat nav, and thinking is there really a race track here, as im driving the artic past families having picnics.
Same with Imola. We stopped by on the way back to Bologna from Misano. I thought there must be 2 Imolas and wouldn’t want to be getting out of there immediately after the race!

Agree with whoever stated Ferrari usually come up with something, I’m sure they plan for a good showing at Monza and they could use a result. I’d like it to be Sainz though, but would be happy to see Lando on the top step again.

I think the best thing that Ferrari could do this weekend is announce Newey joining ... just so we can be done with the speculation ...

idea Is EJ in town this weekend?

The conviction that Piastri is just about to be getting the better of Norris imminently (repeated in almost every race) and prove the stronger driver at Mclaren is quite surprising. He's had a strong couple of races prior to Zandvoort where it seemed he'd finally got to terms with lacking race pace to Norris but he got a bit of a thumping all weekend from his teammate tbh.

Confirmation that Newey is going elsewhere and puncturing a lot of wish fulfilment balloons would be even better......

Thanks for the thread PiaP, Mr Newey was at Goodwood today testing a couple of his cars for the Revival, he looked very relaxed and was sporting his Red Bull overalls.

I think this one will be interesting, in a, who dares to run the least amount of downforce way, I’d like a Lando or Lewis win.

Would be a real shame if an Oscar or a George would just happen to trip over MV as the strategies converge.

One DNF for Max and it’s game on for the drivers’ championship.

Even better if it was really close, and MV lost the title because of that “stuck brake” in Melbourne.

McLarens priority will be the constructors but I suspect they may now have to instruct Oscar to let Lando through should he be ahead of him. They’re too close now to muck up their chances.
