Starting to see photos of the cars.

This is why McLaren were hiding their brake ducts during the Bahrain test.

Thanks for the pic- I think there’s a smooth outer cover that fits over that.

Just amazing how seamless they have created this footage and feels like the original. (Apart from Hamilton’s dodgy accent)

He’s definitely enjoying his time at Ferrari and when Lewis is happy, he drives faster as well…

I disagree, reckon that the formerly smooth outer cover has been replaced by this one. Could be an interesting talking point for the first session tomorrow.

We’ll see! It’s the front suspension that’s really funky with the McLaren

I reckon Hamilton for the win, Norris second and Sainz third. Really excited the opener is back in Australia, feels traditional and annoying having to get up at silly o'clock beer
It's hard to know if you're attempting irony, if not, may I ask have you followed F1 prior to 2025?
I've followed F1 since 1989, or thereabouts. I'm going for a 1999 kind of thing, Irvine winning for Ferrari, Frentzen second for Jordan and Ralf Schumacher third for Williams. Australia is always a bit of a funny race, but now I've said that it will probably be a procession.

That is some seriously impressive work.

I think we’re seeing the evolution of the humble biscuit tin.

Apparently they've added an AMB (Anti Max Bar), like an anti roll bar but it's designed to withstand the force of Max deliberately bumping tyres when trying to push Lando into the wall.

He only drives like that when he has championship lead, let's hope he doesn't get one this year.

He only drives like that if he can take out the guy that's faster than him. If that's Lando again this year and Lando fluffs his starts, even in a slower car Max could be in a position to attack on lap one corners.

To be fair it sounds like I'm criticising Max but I'm more criticising Lando if he hasn't sorted out his race starts!!

My hunch for the year is Oscar coming on form and beating Lando.
I also think that the McLaren will be the car to beat.

McLaren are definitely the car to beat.

Nice to see yet more love for Piastri. It's interesting how many of us see the same potential greatness in him...

The fact he got upto speed with Lando so quickly when joining stood out for me.

The fact he took a while to get up to speed in the junior series and then decimated them in what stands out for me - and gives me reason to believe he's far from peaked in F1 just yet smile

He's a seriously low key and quietly confident weapon of a driver. I doubt he's spent his winter break being happy with returning as the notional no2 driver... I think he'll have been on a deep dive working out how to improve. He's the same level of seriousness as Lauda.

Lando outqualified Oscar 20-4 last season. That's pretty one-sided on pure pace.

Indeed. But still small margins and I think it's not unrealistic to imagine Lando was given a little preferential treatment as the big star money maker. But during the season Piastri shone a few times and proved to be remarkably resilient. I get the impression the team know they have two super strong drivers which is why they fumbled the team calls so as not to demotivate either of them. They have a positive driver problem brewing I think!

With a small advance in pace, the young Piastri could be a better long term bet than Lando.
