Looking at the PistonHeads track sessions: Is there a reason the 11:55 session is labelled: PISTONHEADS NOVICE CAR TASTER and the other sessions are labelled: PISTONHEADS NOVICE GROUP?
Not sure why it has been labelled that way but no reason, it's definitely still one of ours!CaptainRAVE said:

So I was on the original list, well within the 500 limit, but looking at the weather I chose to remove myself off the list as I know others did too. An hour or two later the service was cancelled but there was talk of rescheduling for a different day. I saw that it had been rescheduled and added my name to the list, again well within the 500. Now I've just found out that I've been removed and I'm now on the reserve list at 632?? Just trying to work out if that's fair or not, lol.
You will easily make it in. I was in the 700s a couple of years ago and got in by the final Saturday lunchtime. Also, I completely appreciate what the staff at Pistonheads and the various venues do to make the Sunday services what they are. Every time I come away thinking the same thing, I can’t believe they are still FREE!! So hats off to all the folks at PH and elsewhere for all the work they do, and long may it continue.
You can’t please all the people all the time.
I just found the mixed messaging a bit funny. We are encouraged to remove ourselves off the list if we know we can’t make the event, or risk receiving a black mark if we don’t attend when we said we would. But in the extreme event the SS you courteously removed yourself from is rescheduled, even though you added yourself to the new event in good time, your courtesy will be rewarded by automatic relegation to way down the reserve list. Even better, that’s without notice.

There are loads and loads and loads and loads of space at Silverstone. Easy 1000 cars.
Just turn up if you want to go.....
No Silverstone don't limit the space to spite us! They're working at an operational capacity limited by staff/marshalls/first aiders/cost etc, so by going over their limit, they're breaking rules and I assume if something went wrong, they'd be in big trouble and we'd never have an event there again... Sounds beautifully dramatic, but they have to think about worst case scenarios! Just turn up if you want to go.....
I have asked Silverstone to raise it, but unfortunately we can't because of this, sorry! As others have said though, if you're on the reserves you still have a good chance at coming - I'll be sending out another reminder to get those that can't come off the list.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
We're pleased to confirm that Mission Motorsport will still be joining us on the 2nd April. The team will be with us at Silverstone to raise funds towards their ongoing efforts. We're suggesting a non-compulsory donation of £2 per person upon entry.
Weather permitting, the team will be providing passenger rides at £15 each in one of their specially adapted Jaguar F-Types and will also be collecting at various points around the event. You can sign on as a passenger for free at race control, and will need to pay your donation and collect a passenger ride ticket at the PH merchandise stall. Dig deep and show your support to what's truly an amazing charity, and one that shares our own passion for all things automotive.

Hi all! Thanks Ben and thanks to PH Headshed for inviting us.We're pleased to confirm that Mission Motorsport will still be joining us on the 2nd April. As Ben said above; yes we'll be there. It's a huge privilege to be asked to attend as your charity partner and we can't wait. I will be attending to lead the fundraising effort along with several other staffers and volunteers. Keep an eye out for black Mission Motorsport jackets and that'll be us. I'm the one that looks like a Volvo 850 stood on its tail.
We'll have rattle cans with us and massively value the cash support (remember that paper money is easier for our volunteers to carry!) - however, it's not all about money. As a charity we're dependant on relationships at an individual, corporate or group level. That's my job at MM, so if anyone fancies a chat any time come and grab me or ping me on bw@missionmotorsport.org.
Mission Motorsport uses sport, in our case the motoring variety, as a tool. As a hook to attract those wounded, injured & sick serving and veteran service personnel to get off the couch (which they may have been on for literally years) and engage with us. We are fundamentally a welfare, vocation and education charity.
I can bore the arse of anyone for hours on this so I'll leave it there. If you are interested just ask me and I won't shut up about it.
We'll have people stagging on the gate as you enter and leave, plus people cutting around the paddock and pitlane should you want to contribute to our buckets. We'll bring some MM goodies as giveaways, mainly stickers but also wristbands, lapel badges etc.
Cheers all,
Ben
