RE: Silverstone Sunday Service 28/10
Discussion
Here's my in-car footage of the 11:20am session. I was in one of the red Nobles.
Even on a drying track it was still like glass.
I took it easy, but nonetheless had a little spin at Luffield (19mins:40). Good fun though.
To be fair, I didn't have so much trouble with the Aston as he did pull over, but I could see it was a problem for cars with less power.

Nice footage from the wet 9.00 session with a couple of lively moments through Copse corner.https://youtu.be/kY1jZadIZI8

Apologies for my overtake at 9m28s probably taking somewhat longer than expected while you were held up behind the other 911's exiting Copse & into Maggots - it's only a diesel MINI convertible with relatively leisurely acceleration once up into 4th gear, hence conservation of momentum through corners is everything.
Thanks again for sharing your video, and apologies again for any delays while re-gaining momentum along the straights.
Been thinking a lot about the comments. It’s true after never tracking in wet cold conditions I was very nervous around the corners. Thought that speeding up on straights would help by understand I was a pain in the arse to other faster drivers - apologies all.

As promised, the footage from the other camera. If you watch the rev needle you'll see how much of a wet track session is coasting. 13-15s a lap slower than the last dry laps I did there.
(First couple of minutes are pace laps, camera moves for some reason after tank slapper in last 1/4)

I was complaining previously, but I've got a lot of respect for your response. Hopefully your next session will be a better experience for all Wet track time required..........

I know, I'm really annoyed. It is because my super expensive headrest mount and my cheapo extension bar don't quite marry up properly, so the thread came loose. I need to get a better one for next time out - it is fine on the road where the G-forces are much lower.
I though the spinning camera effect worked quite well in parts. e.g. the M2 coming up behind you through copse; the camera tracked him quite nicely! Blipi said:
Sunday Services have been lacking a little this year so was pleased to make this one.
Bubbled over a little late as just set off a bit later than hoped! Takes just over an hour to Bubble down.
The Bub slipped a little on the road with the greasy surface so not surprised to hear the track was a little twitchy! Well done!
Thanks to all attending, Silverstone for hosting and PH for organising
stock bubble pic as didn't take many snaps this time
I loved seeing your car on Sunday (an article about one of them competing on the Diamond Jubilee Liege-Brescia-Liege Rally in July is in November's edition of Classic and Sports Car magazine):Bubbled over a little late as just set off a bit later than hoped! Takes just over an hour to Bubble down.

Some noise from the day. (thanks Keith)

Thanks to Pistonheads and Silverstone for the great day. Enjoyed it. My first time on a track hence why i booked the 9.35am novice session. Only did 1 lap and then it was cancelled due to the bmw barrier accident. Booked the next 10:10am session but was unaware it was the intermediate guys, appolgies my mistake its alot to take in on your first outing.(wont make that mistake again).on top of that the wet track and also i over inflated my tyres to 40psi thinking it was going to be a dry track as came up from Poole and weather said 6% rain. Was in the blue 964 Turbo outlaw. Yeah was not on the racing line most of the time(as in the wrong session) so difficult to take the corners hence my first big spin in the wet dont even know what corner that was on that was pretty scary lucky didnt hit no one i just rember a white car just managing to escape thank goodness. Did some good burns down the pit straight. Had a few more spins but managed to stick it out. Definatley addictive, is there other tracks close to Poole Bournemouth i can do some training?...Noise of the day that Lambourgine, and flames of the day that Nissian Gtr. Great photos and Vids....Cheers Everyone...

Nice one! Was surprised how quick your GTI was, she definitely has some legs on her. Got to be running more than the standard 200hp no? ^^^ My dash cam footage from the 10.45am session

What a great Sunday! PHSS in the morning at Silverstone, and then headed over to Caffeine and Machine towards Stratford for lunch.

You’re quite right - a stage 1 map which really suits the car. The cliched “should have left the factory like that”.Enjoyed driving amongst you and the m3 (I was driving the red Caterham), despite the complete lack of grip in the twisty bits.
I had fun trying to keep up with you, but you got away after a couple of laps. One of the pistonheads guys gave me a passenger ride in a caterham last year. What a hoot! Something I’d love to have a go behind the wheel of.

Silver mini with cautious/dubious cornering technique from the start of the 10:10 session (First couple of minutes are pace laps, camera moves for some reason after tank slapper in last 1/4)

I found the whole session quite sketchy compared to the last Sunday service which was full wet and yet the car was far more composed/competitive and enjoyable then.
This time round ad08r, last time I still had the oem runflats, both sets of boots with only 1k or so miles on them, although not expecting great things in these conditions from the Yokohamas I was struggling to get any temperature or grip for the whole session, perhaps it needs more aggressive camber ?
Megan chaps please speak up I need some help. The corners are meant to be the best part of driving a mini.

AD08R will be crap in the wet and cold. They need warmth. Your OEM tyres would have been better. I found the whole session quite sketchy compared to the last Sunday service which was full wet and yet the car was far more composed/competitive and enjoyable then.
