Sunday Services - Where do you want to go?

What is a 'Sunday Service'? Is it a group attendance to a car-related event, or a dedicated event, or both?
Funnily enough I've just written content for a new page to explain what our events are, but in essence it could be both. The majority of the time a PistonHeads Sunday Service is an exclusive event that we organise just for our members, however there are occasions when we'll tag onto a bigger event too.BenLowden said:

Any of you guys planning on meeting up or anything along them lines in March and April this year? I'm eager for the season to properly start off haha.
Yep April is confirmed (but we're not telling yet ) and March is tentative, so we'll launch ASAP once we know it's going ahead.bolidemichael said:
Thanks. I took advantage of the half price entry to Bicester (thanks), though it amounted to parking amongst PHers, without any meaningful engagement. That's not a complaint, btw, it was much appreciated- it's just my only experience to date.
Bicester is a bit different to our usual affair as like you say, it's very much a parking area rather than our own dedicated event. Everyone is much more sociable at our own exclusive events, so make sure you come along to a proper Sunday Service soon!davey83 said:
Do we have a 2020 calendar as yet?
We're working on some great venues for this year, but as we've experienced in recent years, dates are really hard to pin down until closer to the time. Apart from February, we've got something pencilled in for every month this year whether it's a Sunday Service, track day or motorsport event so rest assured there's plenty coming What we don't want to do is release a calendar of tentative dates, for them to fall through as we've experienced in the past.
If you don't want to miss out, the best thing to do is sign up to our newsletter/promotional emails so you can hear about them as they're released https://link.pistonheads.com/join/63g/signup

So I sign up for the newsletter like it says -
Only to be told that I have actually just UNSUBSCRIBED from all newsletters !!!
Hows that work then ????
Hmm that's odd – can you drop me a PM with the email address you used so I can investigate for you? It may be that you've previously unsubscribed from all emails, so it's a slightly different process if so.Only to be told that I have actually just UNSUBSCRIBED from all newsletters !!!

Hi Ben, can you link the content, as referred above?
I'm still waiting for the page to go live, but will provide a link as soon as it's up. Hopefully this or next week.mpm1987 said:
For some reason, I don’t seem to get the emails for printing off the Sunday service pass anymore. It doesn’t go to my junk mail either. Any suggestions?
Might be worth changing your email address on your account if you have another account you can use?3795mpower said:
Any news Ben ?
Whilst I understand the reason for not putting all events up in advance
I for one need the plan the weekends I can attend these events so
It’s very helpful to see a calendar.
Sadly it just doesn't seem feasible for us to release a full calendar for the year anymore. Out of the eight Sunday Services we're working on for the rest of this year, only one of them is confirmed. Even March has now been pushed back at the last minute so we're back to the drawing board ; it's getting harder and harder every year to secure venues long in advance.Whilst I understand the reason for not putting all events up in advance

Our big events that we attend do go into the calendar much earlier, such as Le Mans 24, Le Mans Classic and Silverstone Classic so people have plenty of time to plan when there's money and more commitment involved. We've now confirmed our first track evening at Brands Hatch on 19th May and our Sporting Tour is confirmed for 10th October, so we'll be getting articles live for these over the next few weeks so people can plan far in advance.
Sunday Services as free events are going to be a bit more fluid in nature, given that we rely on venues to help us out and many people having to volunteer and give up their time to help make them happen. Without being able to release a full calendar for the year, we will aim to launch events much earlier in advance than we have done previously to give people as much time to plan as possible.
Maybe talk to Haynes motor museum - they run the successful (and very busy) breakfast clubs 1st (post 1980) and 2nd (classics) Sunday of the month - perhaps 3rd Sunday?
Failing that - Castle Coombe or Thruxton - or perhaps talk to Kemble Airfield - I know TVR clubs sometimes meet there.

Sadly we've taken the decision with our event partners to postpone the next three Sunday Services that we had scheduled. The safety of our members, staff and the general public are our top priority. Full post here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
We'll report back here in due course when we've got news on new dates. Could be a busy second half of 2020!
