24 Hours of Le Mans 2022 - join us!

Excited about a proper return to La Sarthe in '22? Here's how to be there with PH

After ten years of hosting PHers at the Circuit de la Sarthe with our partner 1st Tickets, these past two have made our last time there in 2019 feel another decade ago. We can't wait to get back out there, and you can join us on the 10th - 12th June 2022 for the 90th 24 Hours of Le Mans.

There's nothing quite like sitting at Arnage at sunset with a cold beer, watching the brakes glow red before the cars fire off towards the Porsche Curves again. The new Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) class is here and Peugeot will be back for the first time since 2011 to battle for the top spot - as if you need an excuse.

Our regulars will likely agree that our campsite is the best place to stay on race weekend, and with this list of perks it's easy to see why:

  • Pre-allocated camping pitches mean there's no rush, your space will be set out for you whenever you arrive
  • Cooked meals included (3x full English breakfast and 3x evening meals)
  • Fenced perimeter for peace of mind
  • On-site security, including night patrols at the weekend, to protect your car and belongings
  • Private toilets and warm showers, so no long queues for the facilities
  • Large marquee with a cash bar - a social hub for all campers whatever the weather, with live TV coverage of the race so you don't miss any of the action
  • Free Wi-Fi access
  • Your package will include general admission to the race and channel crossing (standard up to five-day return), with the option to add on pre-erected tents, grandstand seating and helicopter flights.

We will continue to monitor the global pandemic and race plans closely, and will only be operating our campsite if it's safe to do so for the safety and security of our customers and staff.

To be one of the first to hear about our final plans and to book for 2022, register your interest here.

Once again, we'd like to say a special thank you on behalf of PistonHeads and 1st Tickets to our customers that have stuck with us these past two years; we're looking forward to sharing a beer with you at the campsite!

I can vouch that Brian & his 1st Tickets team offer a great service and we've used them for 7 consecutive years until the pandemic took a hold (I'm in one of the pics with some friends from a few yrs ago biggrin ). Their Bleu Nord main campsite facility is well run & you can enjoy a secure camp-site with great food (although you can take a mix/match approach & just have say their cooked breakfast).

For those who are short on time/have a car with a small boot, I can recommend their "pre-erected tent option" to save you taking/putting up/taking down a tent in poor weather (or even worse the tent breaking!) & they also provide airbeds, folding chairs and a table etc. in the package. We also met some guys who were sadly inadequately equipped for the unseasonally cool evenings one year (lightweight sleeping bags) & 1st Tickets were able to provide a more suitable sleeping bag to assist with a decent night's sleep.

Brexit didn’t create any issue with travel really, the main issue this year is just getting your head round all the Covid processes but that should be easier soon

I suggest you give Brian a call at 1st Tickets....I’ll be speaking with him this week as I know the availability of ferry crossings on the key days before/after the event could be the same as normal I.e. very sought after.

Good idea. I’m going on the Eurotunnel so probably less of an issue. I know the ferry is popular for classic cars due to less driving.

Will you be offering a package for those of us winging over from the Colonies (no need for Channel transit)?

Thanks,

Joe

That's some good lurking on PH! Yes of course, packages can be fully tailored to your requirements and removing channel crossing is quite standard if it's not required.

I hear that there are various issues causing operators a few grey hairs, but hopefully they'll be resolved soon. I'm planning to do the Classic this year but will be watching the 24Hrs from home for a change.

No change there then!

I see that the ferries are expensive this year - probably trying to recoup the losses of the past 2 years

Update: We're now aiming to launch LM24 packages for those pre-registered on Monday for our private campsite. Due to so many bookings being carried over the last two years, there is very limited space and we're expecting what's left to sell out quickly. If you haven't already pre-registered, you can do so here.

The Classic will launch shortly after for those pre-registered (you can do that here) and again we're expecting this to be very popular. Both will then go on general sale a few days after, if we have any space left to book!
