Dealers...

I just spoke to a dealer who almost said... "Unless you're going to buy it don't bother coming down as it's in my show room and I'll need to move 10 cars in order to get it out for you to drive".

Is this bloody normal!?

The annoying thing is, it's a very rare car (for no good reason!), it's very low mileage, in the right colour and local... So I'm going to have a look at it and judge the dealer when I'm face to face... I'd expect a dealer to bend over backwards to get people with cash to come and look at his cars!!!!!

If it's on your way to buy some milk, then why not spend a few mins to check the car out? If it's really what you want and the only one that exists anywhere in the universe, ask the dealer what time you can come back for a test drive. If he doesn't respond with "Give me 1hr to move all these other cars out the way...", then ask yourself if this person is someone you want to do business with. What happens when you have a problem and go back for him to fix it? Bet he's got even less interest in fixing cars he's already holidayed on...
