A rarer find would be a post from the OP that makes sense the 1st time you read it?
Indeed.

While on the subject, why does your post have a question mark at the end?

Hi there,

If you mean this one: -

Then sorry but this is not an XJ220S, its a standard XJ220 with an 'S' front bumper.

There is at least one road going XJ220S in the UK and thats the Yellow one: -

The others are mainly overseas (in the USA I think) and were affectionately known as the 'Opal Fruit' cars

Not sure if any of the above may have been wrapped, resprayed etc as I cannot seem to find a record of exactly how many XJ220S's were built.

Certainly interested to find out more about the car that the OP has discovered.

Regards

Tim
Sorry to quote this again.

They made 5 overall to go along with the four racers.

The yellow one is still in the UK, still original.

The red one is in the Marconi museum in the US, still original.

Then the orange one is still around and still original I think.

The blue and green ones have been resprayed numerous times and modified with different wheels/lights etc. They were at one point silver and black but then one of them has been redone in a matte grey colour.

Then there's a dark green one that may have been resprayed with wasn't an original S.

Here's a photo gallery with the different chassis numbers in their original and then subsequent looks. Hasn't been updated for a bit but it's still a great little gallery. Thank basman007 (Sebas) who may very well be on here for these.

Also sorry to quote this again...again.

yes
But they actually made 6; 5 customer cars (#779, #784, #793, #802, #803) then Tom Walkinshaw's personal car (#801)
5 started out in bright colours (Yellow, Red, Orange, Baby Blue and Green - Opal Fruit Cars as Tim said) and Tom's in Dark Green (Which is also now the Matte Grey one), then it seems some owners got bored and changed the colours, lights, wheels etc. The only originals are the Orange, Yellow and Red. Max's white Gumballer is just a modded XJ220 with a S front end.

The full list which I've compiled, using everybody's info and ALOT of research:

1 - Chas. 779

CURRENT COLOUR: Orange
ORIGINAL COLOUR: Orange
PREVIOUS COLOUR(S): n/a
MODIFICATIONS: none
CURRENT LOCATION: US

2 - Chas. 784

CURRENT LOCATION: California, US

3 - Chas. 793

CURRENT COLOUR: Red

4 - Chas. 801 (Tom Walkinshaw's personal car, he had this commissioned, and it is the only non-Opal Fruit chassis made)

CURRENT COLOUR: Matte Grey
ORIGINAL COLOUR: Dark Green
PREVIOUS COLOUR(S): Dark Green, Silver
MODIFICATIONS: Lights, Indicators, Wheels, Wing Mirrors
CURRENT LOCATION: Beverley Hills, California, US

5 - Chas. 802

I thought the yellow one was TWs car in the 90s. Car borrowed it off him to set the fastest lap of a UK circuit at Millbrook.

Still looks monstrous. Wheels date it somewhat now, but WGAF - a properly iconic motor.
