Never really been into it.

I bought a Peugeot 206 2.0 HDI Quiksilver in 2003, with 15" wheels as standard but paid Peugeot a fortune to upgrade to the 16" ones off the GTI. They did and in lieu knocked some money off for taking the brand new 15" wheels back.

Then i got a puncture and noticed that the space-saver was a 15".

Not sure if this is a big problem but can imagine it does affect ride having 1 wheel an inch smaller than the others.

Also had some 'lexus' lights on it - which were a bit hit and miss as to whether they worked right.

After those two fairly minor points on bits of the car that you take for granted, i decided generally not to bother with modifying again.

Each to their own though. Some look terrible, others look nice.

Bored out engines, gas flowed heads, hot cams, lightened & balanced crank & rods etc., tubular manifolds, big exhausts, big discs, eibachs & billies - all the way through to tuning boxes & remaps, short shift kits, alloys etc etc....

I can say that something has been done to pretty much every car I've had even if it was just a stereo swap.

I did the whole modify a crap car thing in my early 20's by spending thousands on a Corsa 1.2. Since then i've gone through more subtle modification processes such as new wheels, lowering, etc but nothing as extreme as that Corsa! The money I lost put me off doing it ever again as well as getting older!
