Decently modified in my book.
There was an old boy hawking around a similar idea for years, it was a narrowed Rover 100 called The Bullitt. He advertised it for a fairly tidy sum on eBay several times, and there was a few news stories now and again. Of course, it didn't have a working drive train (it wouldn't fit) and had to be towed everywhere (illegally).

I imagine it eventually got scrapped.

EDIT: Found a pic, Bono has let himself go a bit!
