To be honest it's very well done and takes some looking to notice it isn't the real one....but I just think why?Probably spent a lot of money just to fake it and get some looks when an Audi R8 would've probably got the looks in the first place.

Sometimes I think it's just for the challenge... Probably spent a lot of money just to fake it and get some looks when an Audi R8 would've probably got the looks in the first place.
As you say, an R8 would probably snap just as much knicker elastic if that was the objective, for anyone who knows their cars it's obviously not a real one.

The thing is, if I saw it on the road it would never cross my mind that it was a converted R8, unless I really noticed the wheels, and I’d probably assume it was a Bugatti. That’s the thing about replicas....if you see a Ferrari 250GTO or a Jaguar XKSS or a GT40 on the road most petrol heads would immediately assume it was fake even though they maybe exact tool room copies because no idiot would drive a £1,000,000+++ classic on the road!As you say, an R8 would probably snap just as much knicker elastic if that was the objective, for anyone who knows their cars it's obviously not a real one.
The Mr2 Ferrari’s and most Cobras on the other hand!

I know of 1 chap with Donald Campbell's old AC that gets driven a lot and on track
I regularly see F40's going in and out of Rardleys in Grayshott, one recent one was driven quite hard when I followed it
I was at a hotel not long ago and the son of Bramleys turned up in a 250gt SWB
Flemke drives his Mac F1 and I used to see the orange long tail at track days quite often.
These are just a few that I can think of.

I agree and yes, I have seen some amazingly expensive cars on the road including a 250 GTO. What I was suggesting is that ‘a lot’ of the time, when you see a car like the ones mentioned there is a good chance they aint real!I know of 1 chap with Donald Campbell's old AC that gets driven a lot and on track
