Its great, although for personal taste I would not have gone with such an "Eleanor" look on a British sportscar (front fogs, the American style side pipes and hood cut). An imagining of what an MGB would have been like running with Cobras and GT40s at Le Mans would have been perfect.

personal taste though, and the engineering looks great.

I can understand that, I also have another little MGB GT monster on my pc which looks a bit more UK like :-)

As a modified Clio V6 owner and Max Power influenced my youth.... I'm torn. I'm glad they did it, but less is more I think....
yes, its a bit much, its a bit love + hate something :-) , but it seems to have the power to go with, its not only show with 500hp.
Yeah I am the same, very torn...maybe with a different paint job and less bonnet vents, although I am sure they are functional.

Wasn't the original car a bit of a pig in the handling department?

Yes, they (phase 1) seemed to be a handful on the limit, they bettered it when Renault took the job over from? something like that (I forgot)

Didn't TWR have a hand in the Mk1?

Correct they built the phase 1 in Uddevalla, Sweden, the phase 2 cars were built by Renault sport in Dieppe, France.

Phase 1: 1555 cars built
Phase 2: 1309 cars built

Yeah I had read something like that. I have always loved the Phase 2 car, stunning piece of engineering and design!

This one is a while for sale in south Europe I believe, its a Renault Clio V6 mk1 completely changed and biturbo, 500hp so it seems, could be fun.

I remember this appearing in a Max Power feature of the old GTI Tuning show at Magny Cours years ago. Assumed it would be long dead and definitely not now twin turbo!

Me too (Phase 2), love small wide pocket rocket cars.

Although I did not like the seating position if I remember it correctly, I took once a seat in such Clio, see if it was something for me.
At the time I was a bit disappointed about the interior, at some point those Clio V6 (mk2) became reasonable cheap, I thought, should I buy one? but then I had a difficult car to sell and I needed to sell it, not so for the money, but to get garage space... I sadly have only one garage for one car, not a small garage for one car, but only 1 fits... and I don't have a drive way... aaaaaargh

but of course happy with my garage.

those days the mk2 can be very expensive, starting from 50k euro but more around 60k

Perhaps, but there is no denying that it is decently modified!

I've had both and I prefer the Ph1. It has more of an edge, it feels lighter and more energetic.
