It is. I’m not a Beetle fan normally, but that is cool.

I’d take that. It’s just looks right.

Who built it?

Edit to add - danni Koldal designed, shame, the huge rear panel behind the seats looks not quite right.

These kits have been around since the 80's. Just google wizard roadsters, I think they were originally another name, can't remember exactly, might have been something like 'wizard of rods'.

They were called something different in the states.

Not sure what that site is talking about, these kits and shaving the indicators were all the rage in the 80s and 90s. The headlights are a common mod from that era, used to be called rossi headlights.

These kits were a nightmare because they cut off the stock cooling (vents) for the engine, they also seriously reduced the available height, making the stock air filter (that went on top of the stock carb) would no longer fit.

"wizard" redesigned the kit for the mid 90's with far greater space, you can tell because the engine lid is alot bigger....

That is superb.

It manages to exhibit both restraint and a dollop of the extrovert. Lovely, powerful lines that are not inconsistent with the original.

Much prefer the Heb Rod

Or a modified Hebmuller

Wizards have issues with cooling as has already been said. It's a shame the Hebmuller factory burnt down, they're such a lovely looking thing

Prefer the matt black spider - doesn't look unfinished or have the preposterous negative camber at the rear so beloved of so-cal beetles.
