I never was one for affectionately naming vehicles, however recently both my vehicles have acquired ironic nicknames.

My Series 3 Land Rover is called Red Shed, because... well.. its red, and currently is both metaphorically and physically a shed.
My Discovery has a girls name.... but this is because it named in honour of a girl who seemed utterly fantastic but actually caused me nothing but aggravation, problems, timewasting and grief. Much like the vehicle seemed but has actually behaved.
(No, I'm not saying which name on a public forum... just in case)

Holy thread resurrection etc.

I never really give my cars names - while I don't see the point in doing so, I can understand the sentimental reasons behind it. A friend of mine gave my 370Z the moniker "Baby Z" and it's stuck since - I casually refer to my Rover as the Silver Fox purely because it's old, battered, but does what I ask of it.
