Done it once or twice and didn't find it that comfy. I guess the only real danger is if something like a small stone getting stuck to your foot, you brake hard thus jamming stone and it causes you to instinctively pull away.

This. It will happen one day and pop goes your insurance........
Isn't the risk of having a small stone in a shoe equally high? And what would the insurance say?

This guy always drives barefoot at knockhill, doesn't hold back too!

I can confirm he is not right in the head! I managed to implode his back window on a rather spirited run through the Highlands a few years back at a considerable pace whilst he was barefoot

Done It a few times. Usually move the seat forwards an inch or so to make up for the missing shoe sole.

Always drive barefoot if I have been wearing flip flops. Would never drive with flip flops.
When I was in Cyprus wearing flip flops I'd always drive barefoot. Flip flops were quite dangerous to be honest, falling off/getting caught etc.
