I don't see the point in buying something just for the trip - unless you're going to buy something a bit silly to make it an epic experience.

(I tried to persuade my other half that we really should own a late 80s / early 90s Bentley for one mad summer of driving holidays - she disagreed and insisted we use the Spider)
