Chris Harris, CLK DTM convertible making a young lads day chasing a steam train.

Absolutely brilliant cloud9

One of the best videos I've seen on YouTube in a long time.
I can’t quite get my head round Francois…he makes out he a bit, on the spectrum, so to speak but he knows exactly what he’s doing with the whole…bit if a weirdo image. He has a big team around him especially on shoots like this Monkey train chase video. He has a production team, two other chase cars, one with a full on camera boom. Not quite the little trainspotter you see at Crewe on weekday morning! Yes, he’s certainly eccentric and his character is very likeable but I can’t quite help think it’s all a bit contrived.

It's 'telly'. Everything is contrived.

The chase cars and boom camera were from Chris Harris' team from filming the other part of the video that links into this. That was a bit extravagant even for Monkey, so maybe they shared the costs for the day.

Norbert Singer talking us through the development of the first Porsche turbo cars including the utterly mental 917/30. It's in Deutsch so subtitled but super interesting (if nerdy).

We've probably all seen the 1960s London to Bath IAM demonstration drive. There's a full length version of it on YouTube now.

George Eyles of the IAM must have been a popular chap for television in his day as he's in a couple of other 1960s driver education videos that have now been uploaded to YouTube

These videos do add some reality to the romanticised idea people have now that bad driving habits and poor skill never used to be prevalent. This shows that problems such as people following the car in front too closely and being clueless about what road signs mean were an issue 60 years ago.

Even the drivers showing how things should be done seem to have bad habits. In the third video, the police driver doesn't use the whole length of the acceleration lane to join the motorway and instead stops before doing a sharp turn onto the main carriageway. I'm also puzzled by the tractor on the motorway in that scene.

EV can jump over potholes and even road spikes. Whatever you think of the car etc this is pretty impressive.

I don't think he's really 'on the spectrum' as it were and I'm not sure he even plays up to it. He's just passionate about trains which probably makes him seem that way. If you watch his videos a bit more you'll see he's actually pretty normal (and has a very attractive girlfriend).
