How about a one of the ghastly Maybach 62s with 100,000 miles, for £90k?!

I'm sure it's a wonderful thing to be in, but that money for an example with a 100k on the clock seems bonkers - even by the standards of the nutty prices usually asked for these.

Quite like the colour combo, though.
God I love those
I do quite like the rear badging. biggrin

I shudder to think of the running costs of one of those when its hitting that type of mileage. All that weight wearing down components, how far away can an enormous bill be.
Weren't they design to (theoretically) do big motorway miles? Chauffeur driven alternatives to the train? Well maintained and regularly serviced, I would expect it's as reliable and as robust as any S-Class Merc (since that's kinda what it is).

Expensive for what it is, tho.

€1,990,000 and only 111 miles. Worth every penny

The M275 engine and 5G box are tough, easy to work on, and lots of knowledge/skill available. Plenty of the rest of the car is bespoke to the Maybach though, and I suspect if any of your gizmos die you're going to have fun finding the knowledge and parts to fix them, although there are Mercedes/Maybach breakers in Eastern Europe who will be of help.

More to the point, who is going to buy this anyway; it's a car to be driven in and if you can afford a chaueffer you're not buying decade old 100k cars, and the wedding car lot just bodge up an S350d in full plastic seat spec to be a "replica" Maybach.

They are so ugly though. Don’t have any semblance of panache, Zeppelin is quite appropriate.

And another "low miles so let's just make up a number" special, this 1800 mile 1990 XJS 5.3, yours for a mere £99,900. rofl

While that is very overpriced, it is also cloud9

Need a manual box conversion though to make it extra perfect.

Who'd buy it is a question I'm curious about too. I can understand someone really liking them and preferring them to something newer, even though they're not to my taste. But if you were well-heeled enough for that, surely you'd have the means to source a much less leggy example which'd probably not be much more money.

That's going to get some silly bids on it, and I'll be amazed if it sells (and the winning bidder actually buys it)

That Maybach, blegh, what a sicker.
Although, the more I look at the interior the more it grows on me.
No, stop it.

I’m curious, not trying to start a fight. What’s it “really” worth?

This guy thinks so. 650k miles! The cost of fuel used would have paid for an S65 AMG.....

Going by the article he did even more than that, as the milometer stopped at 625k. That was in '09. He replaced the car in '13, so probably did a third as much again! Crazy.

Awful colour scheme to choose though...looks so pallid.

It's a bit triggers broom but more importantly what a friggin miserable life. Richer than you would dream but spending 10,000kms a week in a car for 9 years, or 500 miles a day. Wow.

I was thinking the same. Could be that he actually enjoyed that aspect of his life. Less distractions, time to think and plan, facilities to work if needs be...etc. Each to their own, but I imagine he was not in the least bit "miserable" otherwise he would not have done it.
