Modifying a car on PCP
Discussion
I would think that, as well as breaking the contract, the insurance would be void, too.
I upgraded the engine on my car (which I own outright) from 3.6-4.3. When I informed my insurance, they cancelled my policy immediately.
I didn't mind so much, and was half expecting it, so I re-insured with another company that had a agreed value (double the amount of the previous insurance)
If the car wasn't mine, and owned by a finance company/dealer, there's no way I'd touch the car, not even a rechip - as I wouldn't be the owner of the car and would have no right to modify it without permission!
