I can't believe how many of you can remember a long list of numbers

I can't remember the numbers of the cars I've got on the drive !
Given the list on your garage, I am not surprised. smile

Good effort!

EOE 263C - a white HA Viva from (I think) Crowder and Brown, one of Birmingham's several Vauxhall dealers back in the day.

My mum's number plate was dead easy to remember when I was young as it was the same as our phone number - 47627 - No letters on Guernsey number plates to confuse things!

I can only remember a few number plates, though I remember a lot more cars than this. Dad because he was moderately interested in cars, though not enough to have anything exotic, and mum had a few because they tended to be old and already worn out.

WVW 806W White Metro 1.0 (mum's)
MCV 531X Terracotta Ford Capri 2.0 (dad's)
B501 YTA Red MG Metro 1.3 (dad's, then mum's)
F231 MFJ Burgundy Ford Sierra 1.8 (dad's, first brand new car I remember him getting)
J76 LRL Red Rover Metro 1.1 (mum's, but then became mine). Decent first car actually, though I only had it a few months before starting a job with a company car, at which point it went to my sister's friend.

First car I remember was a Hillman Avenger estate, and in no particular order at least one Maxi, a Volvo 360, another Sierra, a couple of other Metros and a couple of Minis, a Hillman Imp, another Capri, and more latterly two if not three Mondeos. No idea on reg plates though.

Was that deliberate? That is one hell of a coincidence if it wasn't assigned deliberately.

Wow, great topic and I've been stirring the old grey matter to try and remember them without looking at any pics.

Not in any specific order:

GRT198N Datsun 120Y in Yellow. Took us all over Europe and Italy without missing a beat, Vinyl seats and good looking car from the front.

C581GWG Purchased new by my Dad in 85, rusted itself to death 10 years later.

GBJ266N Escort Mexico my Dad owned, which I purchased from him then sold a few months later after realising I couldn't afford insurance on my £26 a week YTS wage.

2646 PO Blue Vauxhall Velox PA
CCD 497C two-tone green Vauxhall VX4/90 FC
KBP 981J gold Vauxhall VX4/90 FD
SWN 727M silver Vauxhall VX4/90 FE

Then is gets a bit blurry but an 81 Vauxhall Cavalier SRi, followed by a Vauxhall Omega CDX, then a Vauxhall Carlton CDX

Bit of a GM man was my Dad :-)

DSD85V on a yellow Citröen GS of my dad. Why I remember that but not most of my own cars is anyone’s guess

Haha this is ace

DLD397Y was a Volvo 340 we got when I was about 3. There was a black Mini before that, all I remember about it was that it was massive

Also this shows how old people are who still use forums rather than newer shinier forms of social media
