Got it !

The 275GTB in the books was sold into your village in 1974!
The buyer still lives there.....

Ditto! Can't wait to read them.

Also suspect that the recollections of variously a Capri, an XR3i, an Escort van, a Corsa, a Cavalier, a Bora, a Passat, some post-divorce knackered sheds and a handful of BMWs would not be anywhere as interesting. Still, something to aim for with future cars...

You don't use a V5C to use the car in historic racing (most historic race cars are not road registered).

You have to apply for an FIA Historic Technical Passport. This does not specify the car is built using original parts, all it requires is that the car is built to the same specification as was used by that marque when raced internationally in period.

The FIA HTP specifically states the granting of an HTP does not guarantee the provenance of the car. So long as the car is built to the same spec in every detail, a replica will be given an HTP in most categories.

So that part of the article is plain bks.

Some events request that the cars are original and not replica's, but even the originals are often triggers brooms. You cant race these cars without constantly renewing components.

Just to say my boys (17 & 15) have rolled around laughing reading the book - the anecdotes are all quite incredible for them!
