Cars with ambitious speedometers

Hyundai Ioniq: speedometer reads up to 140mph. Car will never achieve that unless being towed by something with 4 times the horsepower. Not even the excuse of using a parts bin instrument; it's a digital instrument cluster!
Capri 2.0: also reads up to 140mph. No more likely than the Ioniq to reach that velocity under its own steam. In this case, though, it's a result of Ford saving a few bob by using the same speedometer for the 4 and 6 cylinder cars.

My 2001 Polo 1.0E had a 140mph speedometer despite the posted top speed of a heady 94mph.
There was no chance of getting anywhere near that due to the ridiculously short gearing- something like 17mph/1000rpm in 5th so you could fairly easily run into the rev limiter on downhill stretches of motorway which would equate to just over 100mph. In its later years even the actual reading became hopelessly optimistic, it would say it was doing 95mph when it was actually only doing about 80.
