RE: BMW M4 CS: Driven
Discussion
I had the M4 Competition and then upgraded to the CS. It was slightly quicker (same HP but more torque) but it seems to handle a lot better (suspension tweaks and reduced weight?). It was also more comfortable (19" on the fronts instead of 20's?) and for a £10k uplift I'd say it was worth it considering it should hold most of that premium in the next few years. I did not like the front door cards from the GTS (and the silly idea of having a speaker behind the door card which sounds rubbish!), the M3 version kept the normal door cards which looks much better.
Totally agree with you on the speakers, why not punch a hole in the door card and add a grill….mental. As for the door cards themselves, love them, love the pull straps, love how the door cards look. It’s these details that set it aside, if not just go for a comp. With such low numbers, and such high original buying price, these will be a sound investment.

Can you just imagine the depreciation on this thing?
You'd have to be nuts to buy one of these!
The current M3/M4 are not really good enough and lack that special feel.
No attempt to tart them up will change that.
This is great. The current M3 and M4 are exceptional and feel very special. You'd have to be nuts to buy one of these!

Quality thread resurrection. Not sure how good an investment these would have been when new looking at second hand ones for sale they have followed a pretty standard depreciation curve.I found the sale catalogue when they came out, think mine was 98k as has most options. I would never have paid that for it, it's not a 100k car in any context but I believe they represent good value now. I really like all the touch’s that make it a CS, particularly the bonnet and carbon brakes, the noise sounds better than I expected but still no amazing in my honest opinion. I looked at loads of cars and this stood out, still haven’t seen another one on the road.

I agree about the value- low mileage versions obtainable for under £40k, about £8-10k more than a CompetitionGassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
