Unfortunately there was a bad accident at a local car event up here in Aberdeenshire.

The event is great for the area but unfortunately it went to this young mans head.

Thankfully it was a single car accident but both himself and his girlfriend are in a serious condition.

Footage on social media of him driving past the event before then crashing is online but thankfully not of the actual crash.

Hopefully both make a full recovery but his driving was extremely dangerous to say the least.

Just feel for the organisers who will no doubt be asked questions over the incident when it is outwith their control.

Hope it does not stop the meeting taking place in the future.

Did he somehow take out that tree that's lying across the road? eek

I feel for the girlfriend and her family, bloke sounds like a right pillock though. Money can't buy talent or intelligence.

That looks like a big one... hope all survive.

Trees that size don't generally fall over after being hit by a car.

One of his pages.

If this is against the rules I will delete.

Oh dear, that's not a good way to end up. Sadly, looking at the social media stuff and the drive-by, inevitable. And trees are pretty much one of the worst things to hit. No winners here.

Lost for words to be honest. There's showing off then there's being a dhead. This kind of stuff used to happen at the Malton Breakfast meet many moons ago, police attend everyone now to stop it.

Wow - social media really brings out the worst in people, or perhaps they are just bad people to begin with.

Speedy recovery to the driver and his girlfriend, and hopefully lesson learned.

Blimey. I was expecting him to be going quickly but that's? fking crazy knowing there's people on the road and the proximity of the trees etc. Lucky he didn't crash where there were onlookers. Hope they both recover but I've not much sympathy I'm afraid.

ETA:- It was his third drive by of the same spot FFS.

I'm intrigued as to the insurance implications. Would the video evidence get the insurance company off the hook or would he still be covered despite clearly driving like a maniac. Or would it come into effect on the next insurance purchase? He's likely to get done for dangerous driving if he survives right?

F**k me he was going. And the comments overheard on the video suggest it was only moments before the crash, so those spectators were lucky.

Trees always win.

Speedy recovery for the girlfriend. Him, well..........

He should'nt have leased anything more than an Aygo/108- never mind an M2 , at 22 years old!

But that wouldn't impress the ladies on the smeed's, now would it? Image is everything with those type of young men.

Yet another 20-something who thinks life is a Playstation game, which you can reset when it all goes a pete tong.

Absolutely no sympathy for him, wishing a full recovery for the passenger.

I suspect a conviction is the least of his worries right now judging by those pics. Hope they both recover fine.

What a selfish young prick. If you're 22 and you own an M2 maybe treat it with a bit of respect and caution, you're hardly likely to be at the peak of your ability come that age. More concerned about showing off his 'skilz' than considering the safety of his girlfriend, other cars leaving the event, and worse the youngsters on the adjacent banks.
