I Bought a brand new one of these in may/june 2000. IIt was a 2 door 'sky' model that cost me just over 7k at the time. I wanted rid of it within a couple months But the same dealer I bought it from was offering 2.5k as a trade in so kept it a year before punting it onto my bro in law for 2k just to get rid.Granted he kept it for over 10 years and it ran faultlessly in that time without even a oil change.

I am strangely attracted to this, I reckon it mght just be a briliant buy.
Don't like silver, no interior photos? However, long MOT, not crazy mileage... 36 miles away.. if my car died tomorrrow, this would be in the top 10.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202102249...

No doubt rubbish. But for some reason I enjoyed looking at the pictures: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202102038...
From a more charming era of trim levels - "bonus". Ie getting anything at all was a bonus!

Or have an earlier one at the other end of the trim spectrum: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009043...

It's crazy, in this world of slitty windows, how huge that rear side window seems - positively panoramic, despite the tiny proportions.0a said:

Splendid simplicity. I prefer it to the blue Ghia in the next post. From a more charming era of trim levels - "bonus". Ie getting anything at all was a bonus!

I used to have one of these in exactly the same colour. It was a surprisingly nice and lively thing to drive. Its nice to see an old Ford where the cloth seats haven't gone all baggy. This particular car would make a great retro daily. In fact, this particular car is nice enough to make my bank card start twitching.....
Well it did, right up until I saw it was a Cat D.

Yes, but at ten years old, this would be worth 50p so Cat D only means "uneconomic to repair" - might be a trolley ding! (might not!)This particular car would make a great retro daily. In fact, this particular car is nice enough to make my bank card start twitching.....

Lovely car, grey interior notwithstanding..I had one on a G plate about 20 years ago, similarly 530iSE, manual, but black on black.
Effortless quiet cruising, bought with 111k, sold with over 163k..
