Near my house there is a small round about.

From one approach the exits are left and straight on/Right (around 2 o'clock).

The approach is single carriage way - splitting into a Left and straight on/Right lane, both clearly marked with arrows.

I turn left here - so use the left lane. If someone is aiming for the 2 O'clock exit I am forced to hang back as they will always no matter who it is, veer across into the left lane in order to go right. I started to hang back after having my mirror clattered and being told 'well it was 50/50' The lane marking is even wearing away.

How are people so unaware of their surroundings and the road markings!

What happens if you get there at half past one.

People who don't use their indicators, particularly on round abouts!!!
I leave for work at 0430, I arrived at a round about around a mile from my home, there's a car approaching from my right and they're positioned as if they're turning right so as to cross the front of my car, but no they swerve left and pass alongside me, fking cretin, I've stopped because a) he wasn't indicating so I had no idea where he's going, b) positioning says stop he's turning right and c) I don't really want my car damaged by a halfwit!!!!
Absolutely, one of my top 5 hates.

it costs nothing to let other people know what you are thinking at all times.

I indicate right to go around and left prior to exit and have never had anyone pull out on me, yet some of the 'Advanced' drivers on here insist that I should rely solely on the give way to the right rule.

Or, if the indication does not benefit another road user, don't bother. But how do you know...??????drivingconfused:cool

A very long time ago, my driving instructor told me they make the rule for giving a signal so simple, even a single brain cell moron can grasp the principle.
In that if a driver is approaching any kind of junction, and there is more than one way they can go, then give a signal to show which way they will be going, provided there is someone around who `might' be able to make use of it. Not just for the vehicle behind, but any vehicle in the vicinity, and any others, including cyclists, and pedestrians, horse riders etc.
The problem is that it seems some people only have just enough grey matter between their ears to cope with operating a vehicle, ask them to give signals at one and the same time, and the pea they use for a brain goes into overload, and smoke starts drifting out of their ears.
Still at least those who don't give signals, are showing the rest of the people on the roads around them, that they are brain dead bell*nds, and best treated with caution. since they cannot really cope with driving properly, and as professionally as one would hope.

Good point. If a following vehicle is not indicating, for anything, I either make haste to get away from them or endeavour to encourage them to OT me. Get rid of them!

When following a vehicle which is approaching a junction, it is quite useful to note how far ahead of the junction its driver starts to give a signal, indicating which way they are going to go, as this gives a rough indication of how far ahead the driver is thinking about what they are doing.
Some people seem to give a signal when they are actually halfway through the turn. which shows they are not really on top of their game, As for those who don't give a signal at all, not too sure what that says about what is happening between their ears?

Not a lot. They belong to the: Start the car / engage a gear / drive, brigade. Everything else is superfluous.

Following on from the roundabout knobs above, another one for me today.

M62 roundabout at Brighouse coming out of Huddersfield. 2 lanes to join the roundabout, left for M62 westbound and straight across to Brighouse, right lane for Brighouse and M62 eastbound.

I'm going eastbound so naturally join the righthand lane and indicating right. Halfwit in a white audi A3 enters roundabout in the left hand lane, and stays in it all the way round to the eastbound exit, then gesticulates at me when I indicate left and move across in front of him when I'm coming to my exit. I gave him plenty of room, but no idea why he felt it was my fault.

Happens ALL the time around here.
They even indicate right sometimes whilst going all the way around the roundabout in the left lane.

Literal. Morons.

Good old Tesco ! (Never knowingly underparked).

They have recently erected some metal posts in the hatched areas at the end of each parking line at my local store.

Now the nobs who parked there, and there were plenty, will have to park in an actual bay. (We live in hope).

If that's for me, we don't have many Russian shoppers at our local branch. But if we did, thay would probably park on the hatched areas.

Because he was in an Audi A3 and drivers of those are exempt from all road rules, don't you know nuffink?

Seen it quite often, usually on some lightly, often badly, modified older Corsa or Fiesta.

Extra tragic when it's on something like an M3 or Audi RS

This is Leeds/Bradford area. There are a lot of "special" drivers in Audi A3s there. (I think you will know that). See YouTube videos for evidence/details.
