They should just ban people from moving further than lane one in one single manouvre when joining a motorway (with established traffic in all,the other lanes).

I've seen some -beans cut across three lanes of tight traffic and then three lanes back again at the last second, when leaving the motorway.

The Americans often have a extra lane that operates like an extended slip road, it's just a shame we don't have the room to do it.

What is "established"? The car in front that has been slow as anything using the slip road and merged probably a second before?

Many idiots now simply do not look or plan in advance well enough nothing more or less. If I am joining a slip road behind someone slow (the usual sort that do not use the slip road for its intended purpose to try and join at 45mph FFS) or a lorry in L1 and there is a suitable gap I will go straight from slip road to L2 where possible making my progress as effective and efficient as possible.

The problem is some drivers not being planning the road enough and being able to establish there is a decent enough gap and end up cutting other drivers up.

Same goes for moving from L3 to L1 not overtly dangerous if you read the road and plan enough.

My view on this subject has been formed by the numerous aforementioned -beans that I have seen who don't do any of that stuff you mention.
