If it doesn't die (which I'll accept is a possibility) my guess is that it'll be as good or better than money in the bank over the next 40 years.
I would hold out for a later TT car, similar risk of large bills but 500bhp makes up for it.
I have a S600 TT which I drove for the first time in ages today (to get an MOT so I can sell it) and had forgotten just how good it was, very quiet and refined but can take off like a stabbed rat if necessary.

I'm fairly well placed to comment as Ive had both Twin Turbo versions - the W215 model in this thread and the later W216

2 x coil packs at 1000 pounds each
Dashboard display replacement
Gear stick brake lock out problem

Beautifully made
Made you feel like you were driving something expensive
very floaty - not easy to "hustle"

ABC lines
ECU at 3000 grand fitted
Ignition module
Various ignition sensors
Now driving A C6 RS6 and so far so good!!

You are very well placed to tell the difference, interesting your comments on the floaty ride and paddle shift on the CL600 I'm going to have to do a bit of specification digging to find out what AMG did to the suspension to make the CL65 handle so well for a big car and I guess it's software upgrade for the gearbox.W215

It may well be worth good money in the future, it is easy to see them as low value now, E Types were dead cheap in the seventies for example, just not sure it won't end up costing a lot to keep it from deteriorating.
