So who's a fan of the pretentious NVN premises? My call is it will be a spectacular failure.
I doubt they'll fail. They're catering to clients with supercar/hypercar collections and Arab clients. They'll probably make a boat load when the Arabs arrive for the summer plus NVN has built a solid reputation in Dubai so that will help.
If catering for the vacuous, shallow tt, works they’ll be sweet. God it’s cringe. It’s a car detailing business not the Dorchester.

I think this is why it'll work.

I don't think Topaz will have anything to worry about. Having seen how passionate and detailed they are from Tim's videos it's where I'd personally be taking my invisible none existent super-cars for their PPF and paint correction.

NVN just seems to be more about the lounge and the surroundings. I imagine they'll have quite a substantial premium too.

Pauls Channel started heading downhill after he sold his Huracan and was trying to buy a house, he lost a lot of momentum imo.
Meanwhile, Mr Shmee, stayed renting and put all his money into his channel and bought car after car, which kept people interested and coming back.
So while Tim is buying millions of dollars in cars, Paul is getting terrible view counts for a channel with nearly 750000 subs.
Not sure drifting will turn that around, I hope something does though.
Monky London is just far more relatable than SoL when it comes to drifting.

ML gets into it, proper part of the scene and gets his hands dirty. If Paul was serious about drifting then he would get a ratty old E36 or 200sx and get out there.

I get the sense he is waiting on someone funding him with a top tier drift car and crew.

Did Becky (QueenB) not do some sort of drifting series not too long back? Not really my scene so not something I'd normally watch, but seem to recall some discussion about it.

As you say, if Paul did buy a car and modify it to drift spec I'm sure he'd have a lot more interest. Not into drifting, but I do enjoy watching people tinker and work on their cars, weirdly!

I enjoy the tinkering aspect too, Adam Ivell is a great example of that and is really authentic.

Paul drifting a rusty 325i would not go down well with his target audience I would imagine, and I doubt he would have any clue as to how to spanner a car trackside. How many people just "YouTube" their way to a pro drift seat?

If he's serious about doing Gymkhana Drift I imagine he must have been doing some pretty serious training to get to a level where he can compete?

Jon. Do you have a video about new tyre fitting and why you should fit the new tyres on the rear and not the front?

It seems to be a subject up for debate with a lot of owners, garages and even tyre manufacturers.

If you don't have a video like this already do you think something like that could potentially be added to your schedule?
That's a great idea, I'll add it to the list. One of the tyre companies will happily pick it up and let me use their facility as they all love the safety message smile List added to.

Jon, will you be doing a ‘best off-road tyre for the new Jimny’ review/test. Though maybe don’t use TGE/AHR’s car as hearing ‘chaos’, ‘chaos’ 50 times would be too much...

But given the general interest in the Jimny the views should be pretty good. Like 150k views for doing a bit of driving off road from someone who had fewer than 1k subscribers.
If I could get a Jimny I certainly would hehe I do need to do an SUV tyre test but I've been trying to sort one out for 2 years now! Getting the right location and vehicles and INSURANCE is proving difficult.

JWWs target demographic will no doubt be the super rich. People who will not want to walk into a garage / mechanics style workshop to discuss their vehicles. They will expect and be accustomed to better in every possible way imaginable. I doubt they'd even go to the unit, but if they do, it MUST represent the business and be better than everywhere else. It might seem cringe to you & I, but I know and work with these people and they love it.

We're not talking multi millionaire types who might run 1 or 2 vehicles. We're probably talking hundreds of millions up, people with staff that may have someone dedicated to the running and maintenance of their cars. Yes, they'll get a few customers who have nice cars who've seen them on YouTube and want in, but it will mostly be people where the fees involved simply don't matter. Ever wondered why they're planning an apartment in central? It's so these people can be driven in, discuss the cars and then go off to do whatever they want.

I'd imagine the likes of Topaz etc... will be for us enthusiasts and people with reasonable net worths who run nice cars. But the 2 businesses are completely aimed for different people.

I'm not sure others involved would agree these individuals are shallow or mindless, even if they are, it's obviously worth it for the likes of Bang & Olufsen and Timothy Oulton who will regularly sell to these types of people.

To be honest, I'd be surprised if this didn't work. As it is, if it wasn't for JWW being a YouTuber and having the idea to bring it here, I doubt we would have even heard of it.

No idea about his business in particular, but my general view is that we are at or near 'peak wrap'. It's become so expensive to have PPF applied properly, which together with the fact that it simply never looks as good as the actual paint does when cleaned and polished, means that I no longer bother getting it done and just pay for the inevitable stone-chips to be resprayed once a year or so. I know a couple of others who feel the same after watching their expensive PPF film start to degenerate after a year or so.

Don't even get me started on those ghastly chrome or matte wraps.

I wish Mr JWW every luck on his NVN venture, it was quite clear from the video that the target audience was for the very elite, as there was no discussion around how to get your car booked in or even trying to sell their services. I personally will start to zone out if his target is only for the super wealthy, as I find it a bit of a cringe fest! Maybe it is just me..

Been following Joe Achilles recently, his is big BMW fan, however has some varied stuff on his channel. I chatted with him at a Sunday Service last year, seemed like a pretty decent chap, very authentic..

I doubt it, since there was a comment in the video about ‘just coming in for a car wash’

Don't forget...JWW is not a director. Its not his venture he's promoting it for the owners. Expect when either it fails or they stop paying him it will quietly disappear from the channel.

It's just an observation. It reminds me of a certain 'celebrity' detailer who was mid job on my car, literally brand new. He gets a call from a regular customer who is in a panic because a bird poo'd on his Bentley. It was all panic stations and he had to leave immediately to race over and remove the poo. I mean, get a fking grip. He wanted to take my car away for a week. I told him to get lost and don't come back. Pretentious nonsense.

I highly doubt it will fail, there's more than enough rich people who enjoy the pretentious lifestyle, not to mention the amount of arab money in/around london

I bet all the NVN haters are the same type of people that won't ever go to an upmarket restaurant or won't buy a first class plane ticket because they don't see the value in them. Ultimately it's not just about the end product, it's about the service and experience throughout. And by the looks of it, NVN are distinctly differentiating themselves from their competitors by offering a premium 'VIP' customer journey overall.

I wouldn't pay to fly First. Business is good enough. Wrong on the restaurants. A better analogy is I wouldn't order the £400 Salt Bae steak. smile

I've not seen anyone, on here or YouTube, hate on NVN.

Can anyone find out how much NVN charge for a posh wash? At least Topaz has a price list on their website. Is it a matter of if you have to ask, you can't afford it....
