I can well imagine that was terrifying. In a similar incident a few years back during a local 12 car rally, a farmer actually took pot shots at cars with his shotgun. It's quite common during these navigational rallies for multiple cars to make the same navigational errors and the farmer flipped after several cars took the wrong junction and approached his farm.
Yeah, it was not a pleasant experience to be in at all. I don't think there are Euro NCAP tests for how well a car can stand up to be whacked with a solid metal tool/implement by an angry farmer, and if there was, I don't think a 1986 VW Polo (which was 16 years old by this point) would have passed it anyway. I'm glad I got out of it and that this farmers mate stopped him doing anything stupid.

ah yes, I think you've mentioned that on a thread in the past - even more terrifying perhaps than what I experienced.

Who else remembers that documentary from years back? Forget the name but there was some prat rattling on about company car hierarchy. Essentially he knew the distinguishing characteristics of each model level, so in a Monty Pythonesque "I know my place" sketch applied to the roads, someone in a Cavalier GLS would be assisted in an overtake past his GL, but someone in an L, or even worse a base spec, well hell would freeze over before he'd let them past. We share the roads with these.

That's why I don't react, just suck it up and try to make each journey as the grey man, inconspicuous, not memorable, you and I may be reasonable folks, but that person over there, maniac.

You may laugh, but there's probably a few PH'ers sitting in their company 520d feeling all big about themselves and getting pissy about someone overtaking them in a 'non-prestige' car.

There's a PH'er and there's the self important twonks who know nothing about cars and join motoring forums with their German company rental barge, just to lord it over drivers of "lesser vehicles".

Much like the fools that turn up at Stoneleigh kitcar show every year, expecting to be allowed into the kitcar parking area with their new leased 520d and who then swan about talking about how their BMW is much better than the kitcar they're looking at, not quite grasping the concept that it's a f**king kitcar show and nobody there cares about a German tintop eurobarge that can see every day of the week on every road in Britain.

You just know the guy who was almost in tears about his diesel maestro is most likely now telling everyone that will listen that “all millennials are snowflakes”

The whole snowflake joke is only funny because Such a high proportion of them are, compared to other generations.

Do you really think some guy on a keyboard created the whole idea out of thin air?

I think people are being a little bit harsh on the guy for punching the moron. Clearly morally the moron deserved it for his driving and attitude albeit technically it was illegal.

As much as people say violence isnt an answer etc, some people deserve and only understand just that.

I did something similar a few years ago but as "pedestrian rage". Im a fat c*nt and as a result are generally thick skinned about comments from the public and scum class etc. However one day I was walking along minding my own, when some CHAV passenger in a car rolled down the window and shouted "who ate all the pies you fat c*nt" at the top of his voice. Unluckily for him the car was approaching a pedestrian crossing and the lights had just gone red so the driver stopped the car. Seeing a little red I went up to the car with him still giving mouth, grabbed him by the throat and repeatedly punched him in the face until his mate sped off to get away.

Illegal - yes. Morally justified - certainly IMO. The little scrote certainly got taught a lesson in a language he understands. he would probably now think twice before abusing someone randomly in the street.

Instead of losing your cool like a hormonal woman and risking prison time, why not just eat less?

Why are some of you getting so emotional about some random anti-social people being punched in the face many years ago. This is ancient history from another age.

The ONLY type of person who should be concerned to the same level of hysterionic ARE the road rage morons who cut us all up and then give the beans and abuse to people.

Violence may well often not be the answer but in this instance although risky to take such action seems to have provided a reasonable response to what otherwise would have passed without the perpetrator having any downside risk. I doubt this was his first shout and more than likely he was a deserving case whose willingness to do this sort of thing was seriously reduced.

When I was 17-18, one of my friends (known him since small pants, still do) would drink and get mouthy. Always start an argument. He’s only little. One day, largered up he did his usual, walking down the high street he starts mouthing off to a car load of guys. He decides to lean into the passenger window to continue the lip when it stops. He lost two teeth. He never did it again.

What has eating less got to do with anything?

Its about being abused in the street for no good reason by some chav scum who thinks they can do what they want. You shouldnt get abused in the street regardless how "different" you are.

Unless of course you are implying that being fat means you deserve public abuse and redicule......

Well how fat is fat. Fat as in a drain on the nhs with long term health problems that “we” all have to pay for, or just a few extra pounds that you could shift if you wanted to but just can’t be arsed

You two played that out exactly, as if you were undertaking road rage on PW.

You were just safely tucked behind your keyboards, instead of your steering wheels when you started raging at him.

Not cool. At all.

I’ve not raged at anybody nor would I ever say a word to anybody about their size. But as he himself has said he is rather fat I’m curious as to how big and furthermore just why ? It’s so unhealty which we all know so why
