If it has been as well put together as some here say I'm sure it could be the basis of an excellent track toy. An anti-roll bar can be made up if necessary, there are companies who do this sort of thing and it's not always as expensive as you'd think.

I'd probably be inclined to stick a cage in for serious track use though...

Bargain bucket fun. I bought an Ax GTI on the strength of a previous shed of the week, three years later it's still a riot to drive and cost peanuts to repair when something breaks.

I should expect it's better than a mini, 2cv, Renault 5 and possibly even the 205/MK1 Golf.

I think shed may have missed a trick here. If you have kids of a teenage variety, your £600 could be repaid in no time by using the car as blackmail.

"Get up before midday and clean your room or I'll pick you up from school in the AX"
"Sure you can borrow my car, here are the AX keys"
"If you ever get a boyfriend I'll pick you up from school in the AX"
"If I ever catch you drinking my alcohol/taking drugs/supporting Man U I'll pick you up from school in the AX"

Etc.

When they work out what it is there will be an awful lot of kids who would be quite happy to have borrowed it. Conversely (for reasons already discussed) the prospect of it being driven by a 17 year old son or daughter would terrify most parents.

Some teens like Q cars too...

If I'd've had the money together when it was for sale, it would've been mine.
