Great read! However, if you ever in the future don't feel like sitting through 2 days of powerpoint presentations from Porsche with their engineers again, drop me a message. I'd love to sit through that and ask their engineers questions and then write up an article about it.

Loving the look of the 992, however as mentioned in the article I'm concerned about wether or not the new 911 will feel a slight bit of 'disconnection' for example when sliding around. This was mentioned in the article. Please Porsche, remember this is a sports car and not a GT car. If people don't like the hard ride or the high levels of NVH... go buy something else...Panamera maybe? That's what it's there for smile

Suspect the PDK shaver might need to be phased out in later production years, this belongs in an SUV. Not a performance sports car. I can't afford a 911, however I have done 3+ Full days on their Silverstone experience centre (Amazing by the way, recommend it to everyone) and every time I have used the PDK leaver to force a downshift or upshift. In some cases, usually steering lock dependent, It is easier just to grab the lever and pull/push it. The new lever, if it can even be called that, doesn't look to even have a manual gear change option and is not easy to grab in the heat of the moment. Unless you have extremely small fingers smile The PDK lever has always had a sense of being in a GT3 race car and having a full connection with the gearbox.

I use the BMW sport automatic lever all of the time when driving, it's just so easy to grab. If a 335d (and even 320d's)have this, why does a Porsche 911 not?

I can't afford one, but we enthusiasts have to worry about these things for the good of our hero's smile
