Google the person's name and Gmail , weird as it sounds but many previous purchasers of my cars I've found on Facebook etc first to check authentic. A

Also add their number as a contact, if they like most people have WhatsApp usually a profile pic will come up.

Given the car you're selling the last thing I'd be doing is giving the location of an extremely hot hatch often robbed to someone online. Which obviously means I would be taking a hit and trading it.

Consider a sale or return deal at a decent garage, my mate just sold his 27k Alfa that way , cost him 1200 in commission but doesn't think he could have sold it privately and probably would have been for less.

Mate of mine sold his range rover private a few years ago, here's what he did.

He told anyone coming to view it that they had to bring ID with them, d/l and bank cards, and would take a picture of them before he even unlocked the car.
If they brought anyone with them, that person would not be in the car on a test drive.

Buying/selling a car like that sounds like a nightmare for both the buyer and seller.

I can see why a potential buyer would want to be cautious and you're in a difficult position. I wouldn't buy an RS3 from a random car park.
