Gloss or satin black alloys?
Discussion
Thanks all. This thread definitely made me smile. Who’d have thought that a simple “what colour black” thread could become so elitist.
I’ve got the car booked in for next week. Had a look at anthracite and smoked chrome as well as black. Don’t need to make a final decision until I drop the car off but I’ll be sure to update this thread with a picture once they’ve been powder coated.
Here’s a little bit of a photoshop thing I did on my iPhone last week. I do prefer black than silver. If that makes me council estate so be it

I used to have black alloys on my 911 but changed them for silver as I wasn’t keen. Still got them in the garage as I’ll probably put them back on when I sell it.
Oh and I already have tattoos and do own a hoodie or 3.
Made your mind up about me yet?
How about if I tell you I’m a consultant in the NHS? The same consultant that people like you regularly look up to and trust their life to?
I suppose what I’m trying to say is that there’s no need to be so judgemental. I know we all judge others but occasionally there is more to a person than meets the eye.
Cheers again guys. Really made me smile this thread ;-)

Our local Wheel Specialist keeps posting photos of refurbished black wheels on customer cars and ask "What do you think?"
I don't post as my mother said if you can't say anything nice....
Black wheels look like 80s CID cars with the wheel covers missing and mask the detail on the wheels.
They posted a red Giulia QV with gold wheels - that was epic but I digress.
Back on point - I'd say a nice metallic grey, not too dark so as to lose the detail.

You seem to have an overinflated opinion of yourself. Though ime, an ego goes with the job.By the way, I vote silver. Let us know if you need any other important life altering decisions weighing up.

Was also trying to invite people to be less judgemental, seemed to pass you by that one. Cheers for the contribution.
Having had both gloss and satin black wheels, I much prefer satin - gloss ones tend to look dirty far sooner than sating ones anyway after a while with a coating of brake dust, and as someone else said, gloss black look awful with tyres that aren't dressed.
Shadow chrome looks great, but I think will be more expensive, as the normal method to achieve is (or certainly used to be) to powdercoat the wheels in black, then over paint in silver.
Your car, your choice, but I'd go satin.

Merely trying to suggest that all the chav and council estate comments didn’t apply this time.

Who says chavs and council house tenants can't be NHS consultants. Don't be so judgmental. Was also trying to invite people to be less judgemental, seemed to pass you by that one. Cheers for the contribution.
However, taste knows no boundaries, look at Kahn and Mansory etc... bleurgh.
Pleased to see you do a worthwhile job and are giving to the community. I like black wheels if they're gloss. The Team Dynamics wheels I used to have had a problem with the lacquer and they went matt black then always looked dirty. They looked great again when I had them re done in gloss! By the way tyres need to be dressed regularly to look good.
