Does the car have traction control? Changing the front size but not the rear will mean the fronts will rotate quicker. This will upset the T/C. Get them changed.

OP - you will not crash and die if go from 235 to 225 on the same profile and rim offset on a mid sector car. . Have a look in your handbook or door pillar or fuel filler to find acceptable sizes.

If most can notice a 4mm reduction in rubber from afar, then you have better eyesight than me. Ironically, a new tyre vs one close to the limit is approx 6mm (12mm diameter).

When at the ultra performance end of the market would agree that tyre choice and specification is vastly more relevant

On a final note and the way that PH is heading, surprised that nobody has come along and said "are they MO Only" - Mercedes fitment, or the car will be undriveable.

Will be fine- my winters are 235, summers are 245 and 225 are recommended on same rims for winter

Don't be silly. Just buy the proper tyres for the back and keep the other two for when you don't get your wheels aligned properly

If you read the post it was the tyre place that put them on without saying anything to me, I did not request different size tyres!

No the rear are 255 it’s 225 instead of 235 on the front

Check your owner's hand book for correct size. If the tyres on your car are not part of the listed tyres then you need to inform the insurance company and get their approval, no approval = no cover in case of a claim.

I had 225/40 winters on instead of 255/35s. Car looked like it was on casters.

I've done this before so that I could move away from a Bridgestone standard fitment on an old MR2. It's fine if you're doing it purposely but poor form for a tyre fitter imo.

For info you can compare the difference using the following calculator. As mentioned above, the difference is small but they should be right. Personally I'd have them changed as accepting them will only serve to tell the garage that it's acceptable practice.
