Not RS not S line, just S (**EDIT - AUDIS) .
Be it ragging it through town centre at 40+ in a 30 or up your arse in the overtaking lane on the MW/DC despite there being traffic ahead preventing progress. Had this on A12 at weekend.
I get that Audi dont so some cars in RS spec (i think?) but why are S (EDIT** AUDI CARS) cars often driven as if they have something to proove?

I only see it consistently with the S variants. Be it S3 screaming up the town centre on a friday night, or s5/6 up your arse.
RS's are fine, ive only seen a few but never driven like bellends ime,

Aw did a faster car overtake you and make you all upset? Oh diddums.
Don't think an S3 would be quite as quick as his Alfa...The S8 plus will do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, faster than the Alfa.
Knobs drive all types of car. I drive an s5, it’s not leased and it’s worth less than a new fiesta. I don’t break the speed limit and I think I drive with respect for other road users. If I get the chance I like to give it a bit of a boot, and I put the roof down to hear it better. That might offend some people I guess? If people are so intolerant of others, then they can suit themselves.
I don’t see many S cars where I live, so I’m unable to generalise like the OP is able to. Around here, the cars I see driven like bell ends are Qashqais and jukes, but that’s because I live about 10 miles from the Nissan factory, so there are about 1 million jukes here. We used to have a Qashqai, again, having a Qashqai didn’t make me drive like a bellend. Being a bell end makes you drive like a bellend

... thus making this thread kinda stupid.

The next 30 pages summarised perfectly.Well I like my little S3,
Racing up behind 500 hp Alfa's, M cars, AMG, etc. Showing them who's boss.
Blasting down the high street, merrily farting away, all for £300/ Month. What's more to like?
Woaaahhh...
Reality check.
Audi S3, family car, baby seat. Driven quite sedately (with the occasional boot (sans child)) Mrs and I quite happy with it. Normal people.
Cliche anyone????
( Oh and it's payed for, not leased)

It's a combination of them being so easy to drive fast and so unrewarding at speed that you have to push them all the time to get any satisfaction. That was my experience of my old S3 anyway. Great cars, just a bit frustrating.
This!!Cruise at "normal" speeds, and you're just in a thirsty volkswagon with some nice interior materials.
Have a "squirt" on the throttle, and speed increases quickly, without much change in sensation for the driver.
Cruise control set at 70, 80, 90 or 100 mph won't feel appreciably different in most modern higher performance saloons. Audi are the kings of the fast car which completely removes the driver from all but the essential inputs, and bare minimum of feedback.
As others have said it’s the s line oil burners trying to prove a point and exactly the same with BMW and Mercs. My old 9-3 Aero out guns most of them and they hate it. From what I have noticed in last year of my commute proper Ms AMG and RS are driven pretty sensibly. I only remember once some Merc came up behind me flashing lights so I nailed it. Got to 135 before thinking ok this is obviously a proper one. Moved over and it was a c63AMG being driven by an old lady!!!!
OP, I assume your Alfa QF is a victim of people wanting to test it's performance, as at the moment every man and his dog are testing them on YouTube waxing lyrical how awesome they are (apart from when it is cold or wet) With respect to S cars, sounds like a sweeping generalisation and many on here love to criticise the brand at any opportunity, given it is a pretty successful model range.
