Looks truly hideous.

But, in typical BMW style (just like the Z4), the production version will look nothing like this and will be more or less a 2 door 3 Series (which is more or less what its always been).

The many scoop pictures of the actual production car suggest it won't have a grille like that, but more or less similar to the 3 Series, suitably sportified obviously.

So, probably no cause for panic. Hopefully.
