The topic hasn't gotten a little OT

Let's not forget, GameFace has two lambos. This is what really matters.

I'd imagine a couple of bags of sand in the back would be of benefit, but that doesn't sound too mythical to me. Of its contemporaries, it probably is quite good.

Original Fiat Panda 4x4s are still one of the most disproportionately capable winter cars I've driven.
The 4x4 Panda was an unbelievably capable car. In winter weather and on decent tyres I'd put it up against anything. It's only limiting factor was ground clearance but at that point the Lada Niva comes in to play.

As for this thread, it's PH gold thanks to Chestwig, Eric and that spit covered Lotus bloke. A bit like the old days on here.

It’s been noted by a lot of people that all the BMW boys do seem to follow Eric around and post on anything he says, though

He’s like the Beiber to their inner teenager.

I think it is more to do with his amazing ability to pick the threads he can loosely base his Subaru based propaganda on. "Thread about a crashed car? Should have bought a scooby!"

Who cares about aquaplaning
I'd rather have his life than the sort of person who checks strangers number plates on the internet.

Having owned a F430 for the last 8 years, you don't need to be driving fast or aquaplaning to put the car in a ditch. If he/she was in Race mode or even Sport mode and blipped the car lets say in 2nd gear on a very wet road then the back end will spin out no question. Experience is key! and if you haven't got any of that then use common sense.

But now you know better right? Conclusions are that any BMW will be far worse than your F430, and you are an idiot for having the Ferrari when you could have had a Subaru Justy…. And if you went for the Subaru, you'd be spared from driving around in a sea of spittle.

If your intention was to look like a massive dhead then you certainly succeeded laugh

Oh, how I lament the loss of the cringe thread.

And here a Subaru STI Type RA absolutely belts it around some hair raising bends in the transfagarasan highway, a Ferrari would end up in the ravines.

When it comes to "Ferraris", I especially don't see the issue with checking number plates. There are a large amount of Peugeot 406s and MR2s that look convincing at first glance, so it's always fun to double check.

As an aside, I do understand the curiosity of checking MOT info in the circumstances - especially where an accident can happen after owner of house-value car passes MOT with advisories for cheap items that can help keep a car out of a ditch.

If anyone thinks it's a bit sad, the bigger picture is that mocking/arguing/competing with a complete stranger on the internet is hardly antithetical.

A 745bhp track car with sequential gearbox would beat most cars on a track. And then a purpose made, factory built race car. Both excellent comparisons.

Eric, please go and make a cup of tea, sit down, put the TV on and take your meds.

Eric is trying to merge this thread with the ‘cars vs bikes on the IOM’ thread.... it’s like a black hole.

Aquaplane speed is mostly function of tyre pressure. The predicted speed is calculated by:

9 x (square root of tyre pressure in psi)

So for 40psi it's about 57mph.
