I suspect Si wrote that with tongue firmly in cheek in response to the thread's resident Scooby fan...
Resident Scooby fan? One of my 4 cars is a Subaru and I never suggested any of the above just that the ej20 is a great engine. Not everyone is a one brand fanboy as we seem to have so many of around here. Not sure why that seems to have touched a nerve so much. The k20 is also a great engine but in different ways. I merely said that the turbocharged STi engine revs just as high as a K20 and then everyones World seems to have ended over such a comment resulting in the hurling of insults from people such as yourself that seem to have been so terribly triggered..

Can't aquaplane because of 4wd? Never knew that physics could be overcome so easily! Aquaplaning is not a grip issue, in which the four driven wheels can transfer the power to the road through the contact patch, but where the tyres are not with contact with the road. Hence the 'planing' bit.
I suspect Si wrote that with tongue firmly in cheek in response to the thread's resident Scooby fan...What Mr TVR may never have experienced is the Subaru symmetrical 4wd. Zero aquaplaning irrespective of the conditions.
My mate Stevo can drive his Legacy with literally 1mm of thread at 120mph down the motorway in monsoon conditions with no worries. One handed too I think - just holds the wheel at 12 o clock and breezes past everything.

Yep they will blow up. Into a big fireball. Can't wait.
Dashcam on standby All I know is a Subaru burns hotter and faster than a BMW.
And when the 2.5 Forester engine goes, you get big sparks that light up the sky as well. A bit like a firework display. Pity the fools that go for the 2.0 Subaru engine.

I highly recommend R2 Automotive in Tilbury, Essex. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else and I live in the Southeast/kent borders. They look after my S2k and Integra DC2.

Yep, when the rings went on my 2.5 Foz, it was like watching a ww2 tank blow up infront of me, flames coming out of all axis. All I know is a Subaru burns hotter and faster than a BMW.

I also owned a DC5 (7 years, 80k miles), it only once needed the oil topping up - drove to chamonix for skiing, was top hole when left, bottom hole when there, didnt touch a drop coming home. Never needed oil after trackdays etc and in my ownership, only a clutch bearing went dry around the teen k mileage.
Though my current STI seems to be fine (at the moment) though ive spent far too much on what was a supposedly 'sorted' car now. Water pump failed one month out of warranty, window motor went, drivers door actuators went, fuel pipe sprung a small leak - spent lots sorting that out and it turned out to be one feeding the fuel filter, AC bearing went but atleast it doesnt seem to drink any oil and performed flawlessly taking it to the alps last winter

Can anyone recommend somewhere OTHER than TGM down South/South East?
When I had my DC5, it was looked after by Phil at Dream Automotive. Very honest, and knowledgeable, he was a Honda dealer technician for many years before going solo. They recently moved from Bushey nr Watford, but IIRC it's over Luton way now.
