Hi all,
I have just received my E350 Cabriolet. It is all great except it came with wrong badge, E200 instead of E350 and 4matic. Everything including documents, VIN no, existence of EQ boost (only other EQ boost model cabriolet is E53) confirms that it is E350. Besides, there is no E200 cabriolet at all and 4matic is only available on E450 and E53 Cabriolet.

Mercedes confirmed that it is just a wrong badge and it is booked for rebadging.

Has anyone had similar experience? Given sticking a badge is the most trivial part of the production, should I be worried that something else is wrong as well? To be fair, Mercedes confirmed that they will do more checks other than rebadging. Please, let me know. Thanks in advance.

Never heard of that happening before.

My wife has a new E200, sadly with the engine of an E200!

With all the hundreds of different configurations and models that Mercedes churn out, it does not surpise me at all.
I often wonder how the factory keep tabs on all the different models, specs, engines, trims, etc,...
Must be a salesmans nightmare to try and keep up with.

None of them compare to the possible shame of the neighbours not really appreciating the monthly rent you're paying.

Just keep it as a 200 then you could smoke all the other 200s at the lights. Proper sleeper

Either that or they’re just getting ready for brexit and the 200s is all we will get

Check whether crims raid homes for E350s.

Just remove the badge altogether, personally think it looks a lot cleaner. It was the first thing I did to my C class coupe when I got it and at some angles the C200 badge looked askew.

Well done OP, Not only have you got a nice car to drive round in for less than it would have cost in depreciation, you have also managed the added bonus of annoying two of the simpler minded folk on here.

Thanks everyone for your comments (some could be less rude). I don't think I have option to keep E200 or remove as Mercedes confirmed they will rebadge as E350. Just wanted to know if anyone had such experience and if I have to be worried for anything else. Thanks again.

Be cool to get an E200 delivered with a E350 badge and insist they put the correct engine in.

Not sure why anyone needs to belittle it, its a strange anomaly on a new car but are we only allowed to discuss really dire things like Ebola and stuff (NPE is that way chaps --->. If you get a new car, you kind of want what you ordered.

Nice car, enjoy it in good health (with the correct badge on) !

Nope, never had that before.

Back in the 90s though when our company car forms were hand written, I did once end up with a 328i instead of the 323i my band dictated. My and my loopy handwriting eh hehe

The 350 badge has confused me because I thought that the engine would be a 3 litre V6(my GLC 350d is apart from being diesel instead of petrol). Whereas in this it is a 2 litre engine isn't it?

It is really difficult to keep up with the badging on German cars now that is for sure.

Really nice motor by the way! thumbup

Yes but on a Sprinter van and not a car.
I ordered a 316 as I’m the boss smile rather than the more plebeian 311 or 313. Very unhappy when it arrived sporting a 313 badge. Much shouting and grumpy ness later it was confirmed as a 316 with the wrong badge. So it does happen.
Mind you the vans are built in some dodgy factory, in Greece I think, so no real surprise there.

If they can't even stick a badge on correctly, what else can't they do?
